The USA TODAY NETWORK in Phoenix is seeking a Project Coordinatortosupport of the Marketing Solutions Sales team, reporting to the West Regional President of Sales. The Sales and Marketing Project Coordinator will have overall responsibility of the planning, budgeting, coordination and execution of assigned projects and initiatives for the Marketing Solutions Sales department. Responsible for managing assigned projects from inception to completion, handling coordination, internal communications, lead cross-functional teams, work flow scheduling and ensuring successful execution while remaining within budget. Partner with internal stakeholders and sales leadership as needed in ensuring a united approach to project planning, communication to staff and execution.
In this role, you will:
• Partner with sales leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on project scope, design, quality, schedule, and outcomes.
• Review and own project schedule with stakeholders to include assignments, tracking and communication from pre-conception to completion.
• Remove roadblocks that could impede project success.
• Create and maintain project status reporting and planning providing regular updates to appropriate sales leader(s) regarding progress, budget and completion timeline. Communicate project status including timeline, risks, delays, and the overall progress to select key stakeholders.
• Provide sales team with necessary support, data, workflow, reporting and training.
• Review each project post-mortem utilizing P&L information along with review of process identifying areas for improvement.
• Work closely with Head Internal Communications to take direction on specific tasks and accountabilities that will support project success.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture with respect to project leadership, execution, and delivery.
• Other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or the equivalent level of experience.
• 3+ years of business experience/management.
• Experience as a Project Manager or similar role requiring managing many moving pieces.
• Demonstrated experience with business processes and transaction flow supporting multiple departments.
• Adept at leading and managing by influence via strong people, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage conflict through proactive action and direct and timely communication.
• Sound organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Documents.
• Financial acumen with the ability to assemble cost/benefit analyses and financial justifications.
