The Rights and Permissions and Content Management Platform Director manages various software platforms ensuring the optimal configuration an interoperability required to support current and future business needs. This individual provides technical advice and guides the technology roadmap for their area balancing the investment in technology and the needs of the business. This position is responsible for the smooth operation of the business, while adapting the portfolio to new requirements, and long-term needs in the configuration of enterprise software platforms. Core activities of the role include determining nonfunctional needs, modeling and evaluating /creating candidate architectural solutions, and negotiating design trade-offs with stakeholders and engineers. Ability to work independently and impact/influence internal and external teams. Review methods and procedures for applicability on new assignments. Demonstrates good judgment in implementing methods and techniques for obtaining results.
The Rights and Permissions and Content Management Platform Director will manage 6 -10 FT resources
This role will need to have the ability to impact/influence internal and external teams. Provides guidance, coaching and constructive feedback to a team within the latitude of established company policy.
Budget management and optimize costs across the IT landscape.
The Platform Director will be responsible for the smooth transition exiting Pearson to the stand alone target state. He or she will be responsible for recommending the most optimal strategy that aligns with the guiding principles of the separation program.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provides architectural and big picture oversight for implementation of software solutions and software development options
• Responsible for the safe delivery of all Application Changes and Releases across system’s portfolio
• Ensure operational readiness for the delivery of all future strategic enhancements.
• Work Supportively & Collaboratively with Business Owners, Testing & Delivery Counterparts.
• Works with various teams, outside vendors, developers, product owners, and application experts in the implementation or modifications of software components.
• Provides expert technical advice to the Content Management and Rights and Permissions teams and other departments within the company.
• Conducts research to understand the latest advances in technology with a strategic vision on behalf of the organization
• Analyzes complex requirements to define project scope, system interfaces, subsystems and integration dependencies
• Develops proof of concepts, with reusable components, application frameworks and complete systems
• Manages technical both internal and/or external resources responsible for the support and maintenance of the portfolio
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• Master in Computer Science or equivalent experience managing enterprise technology.
• Strong knowledge with Content Management and Rights and Permissions technology.
• Generally requires at least 7 years relevant experience and proven ability or training to supervise or manage others
Skills/knowledge/abilities –
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Proficient in SDLC & project/program management methodology.
• In-depth knowledge of current and evolving application solutions, industry standards and best practices.
• Expert command of SaaS Technology concepts and techniques.
• Excellent planning and estimating skills with the ability to create reasoned estimates to implement new platforms
• Vendor relationship experience
• Work experience with Content Management and Rights Managements system
• Work experience in the US K-12 education industry
