Job Summary:
The Project Sales Manager independently manages and directs a two person sales team at the launch of new or re-negotiated airport advertising concession. Primary responsibility for training and directing the two person sales team to achieve established sales goals. This position requires excellent communication between Team Management (where the market resides), the supporting Operations Team and New Business Consultants. This position provides management and directs the Operations team (where the market resides) to successfully execute the new airport program during the length of the project.
Primary Responsibilities are:
• Motivate and manage a sales team of 2 Marketing Consultants to reach established sales goals.
• Work with New Business to set-up a new or re-negotiated airport, collaborating mainly on design/theming and pricing and managing to capital budgets.
• Meet and exceed established sales quotas to maximize revenue in designated airport advertising programs that are in project-mode.
• Fulfill goals and objectives set by the organization for individual performance.
• Represent company with airport management, clients, agencies, vendors and other professional associations, community and civic groups, etc.
• During the initial development or re-development of an airport program, work with all levels of airport staff as a point of contact for sales opportunities, project timelines and contractual compliance.
• Scout markets prior to the sales trip, to meet with airport staff to finalize timelines as well as with local businesses (including Chambers of Commerce, Convention and Business Development, Economic Development Agencies, Hotel/Motel Associations, and key business players) to create PR and market the new Community Showcase Program.
• Work as a primary liaison between our airport partners, CCA Management, advertising clients and the primary CCA sales and operations team on all matters throughout the life of the project.
• Assist Team Responsibility in requested job-related duties including job interviews, performance reviews and disciplinary action up to and including termination.
Other Responsibilities
• Accompany new marketing consultants on training sales trips or provide additional training in conjunction with Team Sales Mangers as requested.
• Assist Sales Training manager on training related topics relative to improving Marketing Consultants performance on project markets.
The REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Strong ability to work individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to read and comprehend business correspondence and proposals.
• Possess valid instate driver’s license.
• Climb, bend, stoop, stand, sit, operate normal office equipment such as keyboards, copiers, telephones, fax machines, calculators, computers, etc.
• Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must have working knowledge of Windows operating system and be competent in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
• Excellent communication required.
• College degree a plus.
• Broad business background with emphasis on airport sales, management and/or business relations.
• Travel required up to 75%.
