The Pearson Pre-Sales Organization is committed to partnering with the North American Sales Organization to help drive the use of Pearson course ware solutions throughout Higher Education. This team is responsible for accelerating our products in use from print to digital, while helping expand our market share. Pre-Sales also is committed to developing and delivering sales and marketing campaigns aimed at improving learner outcomes.
Pearson Pre-Sales is constantly looking to add to our AMAZING team! We are actively searching for a dynamic and highly organized Marketing Coordinator to provide sales and marketing support across the US. This position will have 2 core areas of responsibility:
1) Provide direct Field Marketing support for select disciplines.
2) Technology expertise with evolving programs and platforms in support of the Field Marketing mission.
Position will be located at our Columbus, OH, Boston, MA, Hoboken, NJ, or, San Francisco, CA office sites.
Essential Responsibilities:
Marketing – Selected Higher Education discipline areas assigned, this role will be the lead point of contact in Field Marketing tasked with the following responsibilities:
• Project manage tasks across the marketing functions: managing training schedules within the department coordinating cross-discipline tools used for product training
• Partner directly with product Marketing and Global Products around key solutions for the discipline areas
• Oversee any/all conventions/events for these disciplines
• Administrative support that includes creating/maintaining Excel spreadsheets to monitor organizational and key project performance
• Arrange VP’s travel and support with expense reporting
• Handle confidential information on organization, budget, personnel, etc.
• Create and manage shared Google drive of assets for department’s senior leadership team and organization
• Provide support to customers, internal stakeholders and the sales force as needed
• Collaborate with Product Marketing, Field Marketing and Campaign Marketing teams to develop and implement pertinent and cost effective marketing plans for assigned lists
• Provide additional support as needed, across Pearson regarding the success of solutions from these disciplines throughout North America
• Have working knowledge of local market intelligence and provides support, with guidance from manager, to other sales & marketing teams across Pearson
• Design sales and marketing tools, as appropriate, for various Pearson sales entities
Technology - Develop strong expertise with key technology programs and platforms that have broad application across higher education. Current: Google Websites, Zmag, N-Design plus more; tomorrow it evolves into something else. Pre-Sales lead in learning and leveraging technology for our Field Marketing efforts. Responsibilities to include:
• Develop expertise around core technology programs and platforms to leverage in support of the disciplines they support
• Train Marketing Assistants and others as appropriate, on using these technology programs
• Work closely with Sales Operations team around related technology issues (VPM and other online training, Insight, LearnCore, etc.)
• Provide conference and event planning support, including invitation list, administrative and legal requests, and RSVP management for focus groups and booth management
Qualifications
Required Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Liberal Arts, or Business is preferred
• 1-2 years of relevant and successful work experience
• Quick study to learn and efficiently operate in-house database and systems applications
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google docs
• Ability to problem solve, propose new solutions when issues arise and provide a high level of customer service to meet commitments
• Exceptional organizational abilities to prioritize and plan work activities and schedule for themselves and others in order to use time efficiently to meet task demands
• Respond to direction/guidance/instruction with a positive character recognizing opportunities to influence a favorable outcome; aability to follow instructions and communicate delays with deadlines/tasks
• Self-management skills and self-starter attitude highly valued
• Strong written and verbal communications skills and exceptional interpersonal skills necessary to be successful in an organizational environment
• Nimble to work with multiple stakeholders across the organization, adapt to changes in the fast-paced environment and manage competing demands and rapidly changing priorities
