Position Scope:
The Buyer/Planner will work within the Manufacturing Global Supply Chain Division and be responsible for the material planning and procurement functions to support our North American Repair Operations. The individual will be expected to manage the supply chain to ensure service level targets are attained while optimizing asset utilization. The individual will report to manager of Repair Operations located in Jeffersonville IN.
Major responsibilities include:
Plan supply for materials used in the Customer Repair operations. Manage product life cycles from new product introduction to end of service life planning, including master data creation, material analysis, operations planning, and IOS disposition. Place purchase orders with internal and external suppliers. Expedite urgent requirements as needed. Monitor and report key material performance metrics focused on part availability and inventory management. Lead cross functional teams utilizing lean techniques to solve problems, improve internal materials processes, and to enhance materials management, execution, and planning processes in both corporate and plant / distribution center settings.
Daily work includes:
Weekly review of Planning / Purchase requirement reports to execute all required new purchasing orders and maintenance of existing orders. Weekly Submission of Open order reports to vendors for scheduling line additions and updates. Research and action as required material component shortages. Review and manage EOL activity and IOS. Support regular updates of SAP purchasing documents to match vendor open order reports to provide the most accurate inventory status in SAP for the repair operations. Inform internal customers and colleagues of any impacting supply constraints that cannot be satisfactorily resolved. Escalate to management where required. Monitor and maintain material master data in SAP. Provide ad hoc reporting on planning and inventory analyses. Participate and/or schedule regular conference calls with suppliers for discussions of current issues and maintain supplier relationships. Drive process efficiencies within the role. Communicate effectively and maintain strong relationships with internal customers including Corporate Planning, Product Divisions, Sales Channels, Accounts Payable, Logistics, and CIS to complete work assignments. Cost maintenance of all purchasing documents to ensure accurate payment to the vendor; reconciliation with Accounts Payable team as required.
Other Requirements:
• Advanced ERP system experience required. SAP ECC/R3 and CRM experience is a plus.
• 2-3 years of operational experience is preferred. Experience in capacity and resource management and MRP in a high-volume electronics repair or manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Excel
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
• Special Certifications: APICS (CPIM), NAPM (CPM) is a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, materials, finance or management.
