Summary
Yelp is looking for a Sales Partner Trainer for our growing SMB Channel & Agency Partner sales organization. This new and exciting segment within Yelp was created to support and serve our Sales partners, both small and large, resulting in the need for a dedicated Trainer. Reporting to the RVP, Agency Sales, this person will onboard and train partners and agencies on using the Yelp Platform to buy ads.

Yelp’s Sales Partner Trainer will design and distribute new and ongoing training materials for new agency partners and their sales teams through classroom style training. Partner Trainers are responsible for leading training sessions for both employees of Yelp partners and internal sales reps to generate more revenue.
Partner Trainers will be responsible for creating ongoing training curriculums via different channels (suited to the type of material) including but not limited to in-person presentations, video trainings, slideshows, assessments, and surveys. They will be responsible for researching and recommending new methods and technologies suitable to enhance training programs. Partner Trainers will be required to upkeep Exceed, Yelp’s internal Sales & Support resource and training website. They will coordinate online publishing and maintain an editing schedule, ensuring that all content is dynamic and up to date. They will work with other org stakeholders such as Sales, AM, Rev Ops, Legal, User Operations, Marketing, and Business Development to create new training content.
Success in this role is dependent on a deep understanding of SMB level sales and how to connect Yelp’s diverse portfolio of advertising and data products to revenue generating solutions. You need to be an authority in effective training approaches, adult learning theory and have working knowledge of how Yelp’s portfolio of SMB level products work. This includes the ability to articulate the value of Yelp products relative to other marketplace offerings. Success will be measured on the person’s ability to increase the effectiveness for Partners and Sales reps to onboard and sell Yelp’s Ad solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Train partners and reps how to effectively communicate the value of Yelp to their prospects and clients, leading to more sales and better retention for their business.
• Deliver engaging training experiences to diverse audiences (e.g. Agencies of all sizes, Yelpers).
• Present and deliver content at Yelp hosted Events and Webinars.
• Maintain product expertise across our small business and partner channels.
• Provide feedback against learning objectives; Assess/test to measure knowledge transfer and report on findings.
Requirements:
• BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or Learning and Development related field.
• 4+ years of experience in Digital Advertising or SMB sales training experience - including product and sales techniques.
• Strong communication and writing skills (adapt to multiple levels and learners/stakeholders).
• An enthusiastic team player who’s comfortable working with all department leaders.
• Excellent presentation, communication, written and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to develop content and continually deliver training around sales product training materials.
• Ability to be proactive and flexible in an ever-growing training environment. Must manage themselves and others through change with confidence and an optimistic outlook.
• Respected by their peers as a leader and a resource for questions, inquiries, and content presentation. Has a reputation for positivity, problem solving, and well-rounded knowledge of all segments of the business.
