Job purpose
• Reporting to the Senior Manager of Consolidations and Reporting, this position will be responsible for a variety of duties related to Consolidations and related activities as described in more detail below.
Key Accountabilities
Consolidation Accounting:
• Perform the following functions on a monthly or quarterly basis, as applicable
◦ Assist in the preparation of LLA consolidations
# Coordinate the receipt of financial statements and supporting schedules from assigned operating subsidiaries
# Review financial statements and supporting schedules for reasonableness and completeness
# Resolve issues with reported data directly with operating subsidiaries
# Translate results as submitted by operating subsidiaries in accordance with US GAAP
# Consolidate results in accordance with US GAAP, including the generation of adjusting and eliminating journal entries if necessary
# Assist with acquisition integration efforts and other ad-hoc projects
# Assist with accounting position paper preparation / review
Hyperion Financial Management – System Maintenance:
• Perform the following functions
◦ Assist in the update and maintenance of HFM load files utilized by subsidiaries
◦ Process Change Management Requests, including those related to strategic global operational finance and other financial initiatives
# Assist in the preparation of HFM Change Request Forms
# Assist in user acceptance testing of proposed changes to HFM
◦ Assist in the preparation and update of Smartview files used by the Denver Consolidations Team
◦ Assist in identifying and implementing HFM system and Consolidation process improvements to accelerate completion of the quarterly close cycle
Financial Reporting:
• Preparation of various work papers and schedules relative to the Company’s consolidated financial statements
• Assist auditors with annual audit and quarterly reviews
• Assist with special projects / requests for information, as required
• Maintain control environment documented for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance as it relates to consolidations and reporting
Knowledge & Experience
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Working knowledge of USGAAP
• Demonstrated ability to work in a complex and demanding environment
• Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment and juggle shifting priorities quickly and effectively
• Experience with Hyperion Financial Management and Sarbanes-Oxley is a plus
• Willingness to travel (length and frequency dependent on M&A targets, typically Caribbean or Latin America)
• Positive Attitude and team player
• Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness
• Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting. CPA preferred.
• 1-4 years relevant work experience
