About the role:
We are looking for a content marketing manager with an exceptional set of writing and marketing skills to join a small, scrappy team with broad skills and a DIY mindset along with the eagerness to have a massive impact. In this role, you will assist clients in executing strategic marketing campaigns to meet their brand objectives. You will play an integral role in producing branded content and advertising campaigns for a wide range of advertisers and overseeing their execution.
The job is based in Washington, D.C. and reports to the Director of Strategic Marketing.
Responsibilities include:
• Writing articles, blogs, microsites, social posts, videos, and infographics, often working with graphic designers to create final deliverables for publishing.
• Producing thought leadership content for high-profile clients in the public sector marketing space and creating content to meet every stage of the buyer’s journey.
• Analyzing clients’ content libraries and highlighting gaps or marketing opportunities.
• Develop social media strategies for branded content as well experimenting with social media optimization.
• Conceptualizing and producing unique, best-in-class branded content, marketing, advertising, and social media campaigns that align with both GEMG’s sensibilities and the client’s objectives.
• Directly working on and managing complex or strategic client campaigns, serving as a consultant to client and leading campaign strategy development and execution.
• Assisting in new product development, researching and developing new marketing products to be released to clients.
Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:
• 2-4 years professional experience as a journalist or content writer in the B2B or B2G markets, preferably with a media organization, think tank, digital agency, or major brand;
• Experience writing short and long-form content in a variety of formats from social posts to web articles to video scripts;
• Experience in executing content marketing campaigns from beginning to end including developing narratives, writing, working with design, delivering assets, and digitally promoting;
• Familiarity with crucial aspects of digital marketing including audience targeting, distribution, lead generation, email marketing, and social media strategy;
• A passion for telling brand stories and crafting narratives that have an impact;
• Excellent written, verbal communications and client management skills;
• An interest in digital innovation and an avid follower of marketing trends.
All candidates will be required to complete a short writing assignment.
