Production Assistant/Coordinator - Random House Children's Books
Random House Children’s Books seeks a Production Assistant/Coordinator to join our one-color Production team, working on paperback and casebound novels and chapter books.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating and maintaining production and manufacturing schedules, preflighting and releasing interior and component files, maintaining status information in Filemaker Pro, estimating costs for book projects, routing materials and preparing final files for our digital archive. Ability to be flexible and prioritize as additional tasks to support the team can arise.
Some knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Filemaker Pro, SAP and Microsoft Excel is a plus.
The Coordinator level requires 1 – 3 years of print production experience, preferably in books.
The ideal candidate will exhibit a genuine and enthusiastic interest in the book production and manufacturing process, and be highly detail-oriented. Good problem solving skills a plus when working to solve production challenges.
