Description
• Serve as the primary liaison for Blackboard’s international subsidiaries
• Manage the monthly financial statement close and consolidation of international subsidiaries
• Oversee the periodic balance sheet reconciliation of international subsidiaries
• Manage the inter-company transfer pricing process for accurate financial statement close
• Review inter-company agreements and document the accounting conclusions
• Record and maintain documentation for inter-company funding including inter-company loans and capital injections
• Work closely with local accounting firms in Latin America on accounting, invoicing, collections, and recording keeping processes
• Manage the local country statutory reporting and audit requirements ensuring all filings are complete, accurate, and timely
• Lead cross-functional teams on international business management processes impacting treasury, tax, accounting and other finance activities
• Provide guidance on general ledger setup related to functional and reporting currency requirements for international entities
• Support development of internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures over international accounting operation and identify process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• At least 5 years of accounting experience
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
• Public accounting experiences highly desirable
• Working knowledge of US GAAP
• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
• Working knowledge of ASC 830 is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across functional areas, geographic regions, and cultures
• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a dynamic, high energy environment
• Detail oriented with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
• High energy level with a hands-on approach combined with proven ability and desire to work collaboratively with other departments
