The Corporate Strategy & Incubation group (CSI) at Bose works on the Corporation’s most critical business and growth initiatives. The group’s activities include Corporate Strategy, Customer & Market Insights, M&A, Internal & External Ventures. The Market & Competitive Intelligence team in CSI supports the core business units and innovation growth areas by providing insights to inform data-driven decisions about the markets and geographies where we do or could compete.
This Senior Market Analyst role will drive the research and analysis of the Professional System Division's (PSD) current and potential B2B markets and competitive landscapes. This position leads market analysis and prepares documentation on professional market sizing in existing segments and product categories to identify future trends and conditions. This work will directly inform and influence the division’s ongoing business planning and growth strategies. The Senior Market Analyst will work closely with leadership as well as sales, marketing, product teams.
The work will often involve developing market insights and building reliable models and projections for B2B markets. A high degree of business acumen, coupled with creativity and resourcefulness, are required. You will often serve as an internal consultant, developing a deep understanding of the markets over time and applying rigorous analytical methods to develop proprietary information for the company. You must be adept at quickly learning about new markets, product categories, and technologies, and have a strong ability to develop models, estimates, and projections. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented market analyst who can transform raw data into meaningful insights, providing actionable recommendations that influence our stakeholders to act.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Build a market model for the PSD division including market sizing, segmentation, trends, growth and profit potential for various business opportunities
• Lead market analysis, synthesize results, and develop and present strategic recommendations for the executive leadership team that inspire action
• Collects market information on competitors, products, prices, sales, and methods of marketing and distribution
• Prepares research reports and articles summarizing quantitative research findings, including forecasting, segmentation, market opportunity, and product penetration
• Develops predictive models that provide new insights into current and future opportunity
• Creates professional visualizations, and Power Point summaries, to support and drive execution on findings
• Responsible for maintaining analytical data repository across the division
• Applies range of theories, concepts, principles, and analysis methodologies to complex research projects
• Mentors other analysts to build competency and increase capability for market modeling within the company
• Create custom, targeted reports and dashboards that deliver insights into the current health of the business and opportunities for future growth
• Partner with internal data resources to ensure data integrity and availability to support analytical requirements
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated track record in market modeling and projections, forecasting, and/or category analysis
• Ability to generate complex market models
• Extensive background in obtaining and analyzing quantitative data to solve actual business problems
• Strong technical skills, including experience with query and data visualization tools. SQL and Tableau experience strongly desired.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate statistical output in a manner that is engaging, understandable, and influential
• Enjoys working in a team environment as well as independently
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or related quantitative field
Work Experience:
• 9+ years of related market modeling experience in relevant consulting, finance, corporate development, sales operations, market intelligence functions
• Previous experience in a B2B environment, particularly in a technical field, is a definite plus
