Job Summary
Manager of Offer Management – GEMS (formerly Enterprise) leads a team of pricing analysts to forms a part of the SLED or Commercial Offer Management team of CenturyLink. The Offer Management team is comprised of a team of experienced professionals responsible for all commercial pricing negotiations and contractual expertise within the domestic GEMS region. The Offer Management function offers candidates the opportunity to join a fast-paced business that delivers a broad portfolio of CenturyLink services to clients with complex and changing IT demands. Offer Management function is integral to the success of CenturyLink, as it conducts and leads all non-standard pricing and contractual negotiation and approval activity for the GEMS segment.
The Offer Management Manager is responsible for review of professional non-standard pricing , contract, and offer development and advice in order to successfully win deals. They will have the opportunity to own client negotiations from the point of initial pricing through contracting, to execution. The Offer Management Manager will work on a combination of new deals with new clients, existing customer renewal and upgrade pricing, along with contract and bid management.
The Offer Management Manager will ensure that all areas of CenturyLink’s business are consulted for any deviations from CenturyLink’s standard commercial positions within pricing and contracts. The Offer Management Manager will lead a team of analysts through talent development, process improvement, along with providing escalation approvals and guidance to the team.
Job Description
• First point of contact for all non-standard discussions and negotiations with clients for pricing and contracting, engaging legal teams as required
• Provide professional, pro-active commercial and business input to pricing and contractual elements, business direction, overall commercial solution in support of clients or prospects
• Lead, participate or represent CenturyLink in sensitive and or complex commercial negotiations with customers and if necessary business partners and suppliers to protect CenturyLink’s interests alongside US Legal teams
• Work with Legal and Finance to ensure that CenturyLink’s commercial position is protected in all new contractual agreements put in place with clients
• Provide risk analysis to senior management if agreement cannot be made with the client simply or by using a previously executed or standard approach
• Balance and prioritize multiple opportunities and manage overall delivery of information to customers in the specified timelines
• Package and present contract negotiation summaries on large contracts alongside legal teams
• Provide input regarding commercial contractual matters into the Bid Process for complex and non-standard opportunities
• Provide on-going training to Sales on the CenturyLink contracting process and any changes to it
• Provide final review and countersignature of non-standard agreements
• Provide business term input regarding contractual matters into the Bid Process for complex and non-standard opportunities
• Provide on-going training and contract summaries to the business on existing contracts, and guidance on pricing and contract management “best practices”
• Feedback “lessons learned” to the business on problem contracts, to shape future pricing and contracting policy
• Provide creative commercial contractual direction for the delivery of CenturyLink’s contract obligations
• Validate pricing structures for accuracy and consistency
• Identify and manage commercial risks arising from any client proposed contracts
• Successfully negotiate and conclude commercial arrangement within the overall standard contract framework for new customers
• Provide senior management summaries for own contracts/negotiations
• Escalates issues that cannot be resolved at the working levels to the appropriate level of Governance for resolution.

Qualifications
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience in a related field. 5-10 years experience in the telecommunications industry, including 3 - 5 years pricing or financial analysis
• Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of applications: Project, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Experience partnering with multiple internal organizations.
• Track record of success building positive working relationships across the enterprise.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to organize projects, identify courses of action, and develop solutions to business problems.
• Significant experience working in a matrix environment where cross-functional teams are commonplace and successful project completion involves collaboration and coordination across many departments
• Ability to lead by example, develop and implement a strategy and hold associates accountable for performance.
• Demonstrated knowledge of program, project and process management methodologies
• Ability to break down complex problems into manageable activities
• Experience in managing pricing projects with end-to-end process and business impact
• Ability to see one project in the context of the larger programs and understand immediately how changes to deliverables and timelines will impact other projects
• Proven ability to anticipate work assignments
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skill as well as negotiation, coordination, facilitation, and conflict management skills
