Job Title: Massage Therapist Steady Extra
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Wynn Resorts is the recipient of more Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Awards than any other independent hotel company in the world. Wynn Las Vegas opened on April 28, 2005 and was once again named the best resort in Nevada on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2018 “Gold List,” a title received for the tenth time. Wynn and Encore Las Vegas feature two luxury hotel towers with a total of 4,750 spacious hotel rooms, suites and villas, approximately 192,000 square feet of casino space, 21 dining experiences featuring signature chefs and 11 bars, two award-winning spas, approximately 290,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, approximately 103,000 square feet of retail space as well as three nightclubs, a beach club and recreation and leisure facilities. In addition to two luxury retail esplanades, a Strip-front expansion, Wynn Plaza, is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of 2018.
The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing all massage services to every guest according to Forbes and Wynn Service Standards in the spa facility or any other venues on the Wynn Resort property where massage services are offered.
*Responsible for maintaining the Wynn & Forbes standards of service to guests and coworkers at all times.
*Knows and adheres to Wynn and department policies and procedures, embraces company and department culture and takes pride in the resort and amenities.
*Understands and well versed in the resort, hotel features and services including all outlets, hours of operation, activities and events available to guests.
*Maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude while embracing the Wynn Resorts core values and promises, along with the spa culture and values.
*Ensures the Wynn standards of cleanliness and appearance for all areas. This includes daily side-work and maintaining room standards set by the department and the Massage State Board of Nevada.
*Understands and abides by all Massage State Board of Nevada licensing requirements and policies.
*Works with safety as a priority, and follows department and company safety standards.
*Awareness of guest experience at all times, smiles and makes eye contact and communicates professionally.
*Empowered to assist in guest recovery situations to ensure a flawless execution of guest service and communicates with leadership team as needed.
*Looks for opportunities to assist peers, guests, other departments or leaders at all times.
*Solution oriented, avoiding conflict and gossip, stays on task and promotes teamwork.
*Maintains spa treatment rooms in a neat and professional manner including but not limited to: stocking of linen, cleaning, instrument sterilization and replaces all table linens after each service.
*Keep all areas of the spa including storage areas, back of house, staff break room and dispensary clean and organized while following safety guidelines.
*Perform all regular and seasonal services offered on the menu as trained by the department.
*Consistently follow all treatment protocols and be able to modify treatments within our guidelines based on guests’ individual needs.
*Retain a comprehensive knowledge of all current services,, product benefits, key ingredients and proper application. Able to speak to and actively suggest other services and/or retail products to enhance the guest experience and increase sales while following Forbes guidelines.
*Attends required meetings and/or training classes and incorporates new knowledge gained into daily work practices.
*Actively assists in menu development, product line selection and participates in product demos.
*Report and maintain inventory of spa linen and products as well as assist with monthly inventory.
Job Requirements:
*Must be 18 years of age or older.
*Must maintain current Nevada state massage license.
*Requires a minimum of 2 years’ massage and customer service experience in a demanding high volume luxury spa or resort environment.
*Must have working knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the body and in-depth knowledge of the latest massage industry techniques, equipment, services and products.
*Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
*Good dexterity in fingers, wrists and hands.
*Must be physically able to perform massage up to 10 hours a day/ 4 days a week.
*Candidate must be able to work efficiently within a team environment.
*Must have an open mind and willingness to learn new processes, concepts and ways of approaching guests and coworkers.
*Must be open to coaching and feedback to ensure growth and development.
*Must possess outstanding customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills as well as excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
*Must possess excellent communication skills.
*Candidate must be well groomed and professional.
*Must be able to communicate English with guests, management, and other employees to their understanding. Additional foreign language a plus.
*Must be available to work all shifts and days including opening and closing shifts. Will be required to adjust schedule based on business demands.
*Willingness to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding guests and staff.
*Combination of education equivalent to graduation from high school (High school diploma) or any other combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
*Must be able to obtain and maintain any licensing or active work cards required, at present or in the future, for this position at all times
