Editorial Assistant, Food, Lifestyle Group
The Hearst Food Group is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented food enthusiast with a strong editorial background. This is an opportunity to work and learn in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment with the team that’s responsible for producing the food content for Good Housekeeping, Woman’s Day, Redbook, Prevention, and Country Living, as well as other Hearst titles. Must be a team player who is comfortable supporting others in a high-energy deadline-driven environment; an organized self-starter who can juggle a variety of editorial and administrative tasks, while remaining organized and productive; and a motivated learner who is interested in current consumer trends in food and cooking. Must have a bachelor’s degree and internship experience researching, reporting, and writing food-related content for magazines, newspapers, books, or blogs. Responsibilities:
• Research and report food-related articles.
• Contribute ideas for features, single pages, and columns in various publications.
• Do market work for various publications’ news and products pages.
• Support food team in various administrative tasks.
• Maintain and update recipe archives.
• Request, sort, and file newly published cookbooks.
• Maintain media contact database and relevant press materials.
• Respond to reader feedback via letters, email, phone, and social media.
• Keep abreast of new products, trends, food personalities, and relevant tips.
