Job Description
WUSA-TV, the TEGNA owned CBS affiliate in Washington, DC is looking for a Meteorologist. Primary responsibilities of the position are to forecast, produce, present on-air, web, radio, print and mobile weathercasts. Position requires advanced forecasting skills and the ability to present the weather in a factual, memorable and lively fashion.
Job Requirements
Special Requirements:
• Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience.
• Must have in depth knowledge of weather forecasting, computer display systems such as Weather Central or WSI.
• Qualified candidates must have experience using high powered radar data in communicating information about active storm systems.
• Must be able to update web weather information.
• Ability to stream weather video and weathercast preferred.
• Must handle multiple weather forecasting platforms including television, web, radio, newspaper and mobile-cast.
• Must have a positive attitude and ability to work with others in a changing industry.
• Must have experience live in studio as well as on location
