Job Summary:
Responsible for leading the development of the region's strategic plan(s) to ensure the continued successful growth and profitability of the organization. This includes working with other Comcast business entities in Northern California Comcast Ventures, Comcast Silicon Valley Innovation Center, NBC Bay Area, NBC Sports, etc. to maximize the potential of the unified Comcast brand across the Region.
Core Responsibilities:
• Creates business strategy to focus on strengths, competitive advantage and differentiation.
• Identifies, investigates, evaluates and negotiates strategic geographic business alliances that are in line with the organization's long-range goals. Submit proposals as necessary.
• Drive the evaluation of adjacent market attractiveness through the creation of market models, market research, market segmentation and competitive position evaluation. Identify attractive entry points and partner with Comcast's Business Development team to support market-related due-diligence activities.
• Define the transformative strategic regional partnerships and create feasibility assessments for associated business cases. Negotiate partnership agreements with the support of relevant Division and HQ teams (Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Legal, Finance, Operations and External Affairs).
• Determine and direct the region's Market Development strategy, overseeing the overall strategic network expansion strategy for the California Region.
• Direct and coordinate development of Strategic Business Cases, ROI, IRRs and other economics with Division and HQ. Recognizes profitability and revenue potential in business opportunities.
• Direct or participate in the annual strategic planning process. Conduct market and situation analysis and the businesses/region in assessing critical trends and developing long-term strategies through planning workshops.
• Coordinate with Division and HQ on Municipal RFI/RFPs for products and service. Help define our position and conduct due-diligence cross functionally to determine feasibility of potential partnerships.
• Support the execution of major strategic initiatives related to HQ's Long Range Plan (LRP).
• Structure and solve strategic regional business problems, collaborating and coordinating with internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business issues. Build out unique, creative and impactful solutions by integrating insights across the company's many expert functional resources and supporting collaborative solution development
• Communicate recommendations to senior management, functional, or regional staff and management in a clear, concise and impactful way.
• Present the company's capabilities and possibilities vision externally to potential partners, customers, municipalities, elected officials or business leaders
• Demonstrates leadership versatility.
• Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities.
Job Specification:
• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance or related field.
• Master's Degree/MBA with focus on finance, marketing or strategy strongly preferred.
• Generally requires 15+ years related experience
