Brand Assistant - Penguin Young Readers
Penguin Young Readers Group, the home of many beloved titles for readers of all ages, currently has an exciting and unique opportunity available as a Brand Assistant. This highly visible role works closely with employees across all levels of the publishing division while providing support to the publishing office and brand department.
Whether fiction or nonfiction, classic authors and illustrators or excited new licensed properties, Penguin Young Readers Group strives to make the perfect book for every reader. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Providing administrative support for the publishing office and brand department including setting up meetings, locating and routing materials, performing mailings, etc.
2. Runs regular sales and competitive reports and distributes information among sales, marketing, and editorial teams.
3. Creating materials (i.e. PowerPoint presentations) for a wide variety of meetings such as launch meetings or sales conference.
4. Securing approvals and routing materials in support of PYR’s licensing efforts.
5. Assisting with internal author visits, guest speakers, etc. as needed.
6. Acting as back up support for the President’s office as needed.

• Prior office experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with employees across all levels of an organization’
• Highly organized with the ability to work on and prioritize multiple projects at a time
• Proven ability to work well under pressure
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work well independently and within a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• An interest in children’s books and industry trends is preferred
• Comfort working with number is a plus
Salary for this position is $40,000. Full-time employees are eligible for our comprehensive benefits program.
