We’re looking for a Localization Manager to join Team Snapchat! As the manager of our Localization team, you will manage a small team while working with stakeholders across the company to ensure all Snap products and properties are localized with high quality. Working from our Los Angeles, CA headquarters, you’re guaranteed to own and drive a critical part of our globally growing business.
What you’ll do:
• Define and enforce localization standards and processes across the company
• Own and manage relationships with Engineering and QA teams
• Teach the Localization team how to onboard and educate Engineering teams on localization process and best practices, and collaborate with Engineering teams to find long term solutions for their requirements
• Facilitate tool and workflow creation and optimization; train members of Localization team to create, automate and maintain tools that scale productivity across the localization process
• Source, hire, and onboard localization vendors and manage the relationships on an ongoing basis
• Manage the localization budget, negotiate vendor rates, and find opportunities for cost-cutting
• Define the team’s goals and strategy, define team organization and structure, provide feedback and coaching to the team on a regular basis, and provide career development mentorship and advice
• Be the subject matter expert and advise the Localization team and other teams on the most efficient way of localizing a certain product or asset
Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in translation, localization management, or another related area of study
• 2+ years of experience working on Localization at a tech company
• 3+ years of experience managing a team of 3 or more people
Preferred qualifications:
• Proven track record of driving operational excellence
• Experience working with iTunes Connect and the Google Playstore
• Experience leading localization quality assurance on mobile apps and web-based properties
• Experience managing multicultural teams and simultaneously driving multiple projects to completion
• Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of a company
• Excellent written and verbal English skills
• Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
• High attention to detail
• Strong sense of business needs and priorities
