Cumulus Media |New Yorkis looking for a Director of New Business to join our Sales Management team. This Manager must lead the process of implementing our resources and build a culture based on new business development. This requires a deep appreciation for systems, performance monitoring/measurement, training/employee development, and a results-oriented leadership approach.
Cumulus | New Yorkcurrently features 4 stations in the New York City area and surrounding counties. Our stations include: 95.5 WPLJ-FM (Hot Adult Contemporary), NASH FM 94.7 (Country), 770 WABC-AM (News Talk), and Radio 103.9 WNBM (Urban Adult Contemporary). The cluster of 4 stations reaches millions of listeners on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop creative sales promotions and client-focused partnerships for continued
revenue growth using on-air, digital assets and event marketing
• Develop and implement a sales plan that will meet station’s revenue goals with emphasis on direct, new direct, vertical categories, digital, station features and major account sales.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with Sales Reps to evaluate pending business for conversion.
• Lead a team of 10-15 local account executives through effort to diversify broadcast sales portfolio and penetrate vital business categories.
• Identify high-performance sales talent and participate in ongoing recruitment efforts to ensure continued growth.
• Develop strong client relationships through in person meetings, sales presentations and creative marketing plans.
• Maintain knowledge of the New York market in order to identify key strategies, emerging categories and new client prospects in order to increase and grow overall station revenue.
• Work closely with market leadership to create unique cross-platform programs; on-air radio advertising, online radio advertising, digital products and experiential events.
Qualifications:
• 5-8 years of steady progression as a sales leader:
• Experience selling and managing an outside B2B sales force in an organization which has a highly structured training program & focused goal-orientation.
• Strong understanding of lead generation, CRM and account management.
• Must be a recognized top-performer, high-energy/hard charging personality with strong goal-orientation and ability to coach/mentor.
• Bachelors degree of equivalent media sales management experience preferred.
