The Dirrector of Product is a position with a broad scope at a AEG Presents, one of the biggest live music companies in the world. The right candidate translates business needs and requirements into design concepts and actionable user stories. They will own the product roadmap, and communicate across the organization what is necessary and relevant for any given context. The right candidate for the role is technical, and has vision. They will own internal martech builds, as well as expansion of these custom builds to other business units within AEG, spearheading a global centralization of product. They will ensure that resources and cycles are devoted to the tasks that align with strategic objectives of the department. But they must be able to work in the trenches when needed, working closely with engineering teams to drive product development efforts and participate in managing project schedules, dependencies, and drive cross-functional initiatives. They are comfortable making tactical reprioritizations, skilled at gaining stakeholder trust, and can read a room. They innovate, and determine efficiencies across products and resources. The Director of Product will stay up to date with competitors and keep the company informed on key issues that could impact the product roadmap, or create valuable new opportunities.
Essential Duties:
1 Supervise products through various launch phases and follow-on releases
2 Work directly with engineers to translate product requirements into technical documentation
3 Work closely with CRM and Media and Project Management teams to drive the ideation, planning, development and launch of new capabilities and hardening of existing ones
4 Provide leadership to the internal product team, instilling best practices, providing guidance as needed, and generally raising the quality and consistency of the team
5 Work as liaison for the department, ensuring that our efforts and capabilities are properly represented and expertly applied to new use cases
6 Blend the needs of our users and goals of the company into a set of features that improves usability and improves team performance
7 Explores new developments in the digital marketing and live event spaces that could alter or impact our product roadmap
8 Actively to understand, and seek opportunity within, the broader organization to find areas of common growth through our custom technology stack
9 Know our internal users, their challenges, and how they deal with those challenges today (including through competitive products). Inform better solutions and optimization.
Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, Education):
1. Min education level: 4-year bachelor’s degree. Area of study: Business, Marketing, Product, Computer Science
2. Experience: Minimum 7 years
3. Managerial experience (team of any size)
4. Experience successfully managing internal and external dev teams
5. Know the mechanics and best practices of tracking and marketing automation
6. Experience in JIRA / Confluence a must
7. Experience building on Azure highly desirable
8. Understand the technical architecture of complex and scalable solutions
9. Ability to distill complex technical matters depending on your audience
10. Highly desirable: SQL, Deep knowledge of Google and Facebook technology offerings in the context of integration and automation
11. Knowledge of SQL, Python, .NET.
