Overall Responsibility:
Supply Planners are primarily responsible for applying the Supply Planning Order Strategy against the Demand Planning material forecast and the Project Manager initiated requisitions to ensure the proper quantities are available at the appropriate time, ensuring the highest level of customer service with the lowest overall cost.
Primary Accountabilities:
• Responsible for maintaining an accurate Purchase Plan (PREQ Report)
• Manage seasonal ordering patterns - e.g. Back to school, delivery strategy programs, state submission requirements, obsolescence reviews, pilot and sampling requirements
• Minimize the risk of backorders while executing the timely processing of open customer orders
• Maintain gross inventory and obsolescence reserves
• Achieve usage rate goals through off shore sourcing, combination printings and effective supply strategy
• Determine the optimal order quantity based on: order strategy, inventory levels, forecast, first printings, historical data, contract info, open orders, and cost variables
• Provide an appropriate and achievable delivery date based upon manufacturing lead times, file availability, and dependent requisitions
• Validate Goods Receipt Processing time to ensure accuracy of the ATP date
• Validate accuracy of purchase requisition BOMs
• Maintain Primary Plant alignment and request changes through Material Master
• Execute all component releases in accordance with the appropriate parent requisitions/releases
• Follow the Supply Planning purchase requisition approval process
• Split requisition lines to meet drop shipment needs as appropriate - e.g. depository drop shipments, coordinated customer drop shipments
• Fulfill orders through stock transfers, depository returns, kit decollations, etc.
• Approve purchase orders submitted by Procurement
• Validate depository order requests
• Execute purchase requisitions for warehouse kit demand while maintaining tracking codes and delivery dates throughout the process
• Participate in weekly department meetings and interdepartmental meetings

• Weekly review and status of the Purchase Requisition report

• An accurate and complete Component and/or External Vendor requisition contains the following key elements:

◦ Following appropriate steps within the Delivery Address tab to ensure proper vendor component consumption
• An accurate and complete Kitting requisition contains the following elements:
◦ All fields above apply as well as:
◦ Following appropriate steps within the Material Data tab to check for component availability
• Quarterly review and status of the Excess Inventory Disposition
Skills & Competencies:
• Strong analytical capabilities
• Knowledge of Excel (at least intermediate level knowledge e.g. v-lookups, pivot tables)
• Proven problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to tackle roadblocks of varying complexity head on
• Work independently; proactively resolve issues and form meaningful connections with supply strategy and industry intelligence

◦ Establish and maintain frequent contacts with Global Supply Chain partners to acquire key information in order to execute best practice supply plan strategy

◦ Lead discussion on topics relating to assigned titles in weekly Demand / Supply meetings

• Proficient in identification of SAP (or equivalent system) related issues
• Question inaccuracies in SAP (or equivalent system) and work through solution until resolved
Education & Experience:
• HS Diploma/GED equivalent required
• 2-3 years’ experience in planning required
• Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance, Supply Chain Planning) preferred
• Knowledge of and experience with SAP (Master Data, MRP, BW) preferred
Physical Requirements:
• Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing)
• The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
• Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings
