Position Overview
At Canon USA we are looking for a Staff Accountant (Accountant, Assoc) who will handle the following:
• Maintain accounting records and journal entries, related schedules, and related reports
• Perform account analysis, and supports Divisions and other Canon companies
• Maintain strong internal controls

Responsibilities
• Prepare Journal entries, account analysis, support projects, handle fixed assets
• Reviews balance sheets and expense accounts to ensure that regional offices process transactions in a manner which is consistent with corporate accounting procedures
• Completes monthly close tasks as assigned to assist the team in meeting deadlines
• Reviews, verifies, and reconciles inter-company activity, to ensure accuracy of various account balances, and follows-up with appropriate personnel in order to resolve clerical or procedural errors
• Advises clerical accounting personnel in the regional office in order to resolve problems regarding certain procedures such as general ledger and inventory in order to ensure accurate processing of accounting data
• Reviews cost accounting transactions and reports, in order to accurately track inventory costs
• Researches variances between actual and standard costs with Canon, Inc. and product control management and summarizes major issues in monthly reports to management
• Assists management with various special projects or analyses by gathering accounting data and/or financial information, in order to provide accurate information on which policy or other accounting decisions can be based
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Familiar with computerized accounting systems, and possess good verbal/written communication and computer skills
• Proficient in MS Excel - Vlookup, Pivot Tables
• Proficient in MS PowerPoint a plus
• Oracle experience a plus
• Up to 10% annual travel required
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus
