Accounting Policy and Compliance Manager
I. Job Summary
| Major goals and objectives.
This position will manage day to day compliance and technical accounting activities for the Finance Team. In this role, you will provide support in the development and coordination of accounting policy and implementation of new accounting standards across the organization. You will assist senior management with making critical business decisions by providing the proper accounting treatment and impact analysis. This position is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and supporting compliance with accounting policies and their compliance with relevant authoritative accounting guidance. This position is also responsible for ensuring policies are accurate, current, and documented in a centrally located repository.
This role will also provide comprehensive compliance support to senior business stakeholders. This role will require you to be accountable for proactively driving a program to embed best practices for risk management and controls. This role will have responsibility for leading the compliance, driving implementation of new controls, as well as educating risk management and control requirements across teams and operating groups. This role will be responsible for continuously monitoring emerging internal control risks, and leading the updates to existing controls and processes to respond to these risks. This role also has the responsibility to ensure controls are implemented, documented, and operating effectively for new systems and processes.

Management of the Company’s SOX compliance program, including updating of control documentation including narratives, risk and controls matrix, flowcharts, quarterly process owner attestation, and assessing the changes and open items related to the overall program.

Manages and leads projects related to the adoption and timely implementation of new accounting pronouncements across all areas of the company in compliance with applicable accounting standards.

Assisting with the development of new policies relating to new or emerging accounting standards and supporting impact assessment. Includes new pending accounting rules and assessment of their organizational impact.

Researches complex accounting issues and formulates and prepares position papers to ensure compliance with GAAP.

Establishing, maintaining, and supporting compliance with accounting policies and their compliance with relevant authoritative accounting guidance.

Interacting with the company’s internal and external auditor. Assists with external audit activities including technical accounting work performed over new, complex transactions, new accounting standards, SOX compliance, changes in existing policies, and issue resolution.

Provides training and oversight to others on compliance and technical accounting activities.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA or MBA designation desired.
Experience:
• Public accounting experience highly considered.
• At least 6 years of public accounting or at least 6 years of technical accounting role.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Strong technical financial skills and a comprehensive understanding of accounting, GAAP, PCAOB standards, and SEC regulations.
• Experience with monitoring standard-setting organizations (FASB, EITF, PCAOB, etc.)
• Proficient at designing business controls, general computer controls (GCC) and general application controls (GAC)
• Strong track record of building relationships and establishing effective processes to address complex issues
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Strong analytical and organizational skills
• Good time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
