Job Description:
Financial Data is a vital asset to Global Eagle (GEE) as it transforms itself into a globally integrated organization. We are transforming our financial applications and data layers to drastically revamp acquisition, validation, quality, distribution and usage of financial data across GEE’s many mission critical applications and legacy systems. We are seeking a talented and motivated senior analyst to join the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) team, which is responsible for integrating financial data and driving timely, consistent and clean accounting and planning activities.
Your job as Lead Enterprise Hyperion Systems Analyst is to deeply understand the current data needs and pain points across finance, accounting and planning divisions and build application modules, processes and tools that will significantly improve the way organization handles its financial data. The role will have extremely deep, hands-on expertise in data analysis, modeling, design and implementation of Enterprise Budget & planning, Financial Close, Consolidation and related functions.
Core Responsibilities:
Reporting to Global Financial systems manager (IT), the Senior Hyperion Systems Analyst serves as a key resource for FP&A and Accounting areas to understand business aspects and explain technical issues to provide viable technology solutions. This position is responsible for the analysis, development, implementation, enhancement, growth, and support of enterprise Hyperion (EPM) systems and services.
• Lead/Support implementation and administration of GEE’s financial systems, primarily HFM and Hyperion Planning and related projects (e.g. ASC 606) to meet financial data related needs.
• Work with corporate accounting and FP&A team to effectively determine needs, define business requirements and expand functionality and usage of applications.
• Manage requests for Hyperion Planning and HFM enhancements to meet the changing needs of GEE. This includes hosting discovery meetings with business and technical staff, defining/documenting requirements, tracking development, performing/coordinating user acceptance testing, and promoting to Production.
• Collaborate with IT peers to develop technical solutions, document solutions, test solutions, identify and document technical defects and drive resolution. Assess and troubleshoot data issues and drive resolution.
• Investigate possible sources of financial, costing, inventory and related data in context of related enterprise projects.
• Gain deep understanding of these data sources and data models; understand how it supports the enterprise and its future potential and apply this understanding to financial systems.
• Identify and document opportunities for improvement within the Hyperion suite in alignment with current and future needs of Global Eagle Entertainment.
• Proactively take the steps necessary to setup, test and deploy these improvements systemically.
• Work with stakeholders and SMEs to develop and track Financial Data Quality and Integrity measures. Review and resolve Data Quality issues. Troubleshoot data integrity issues as they arise and provide prevention solutions.
• Provide necessary level of support for remote users within FP&A and Accounting groups.
• Lead Data Model Planning – Define and Maintain Hyperion Structure requirements.
• Define and Maintain Data Definitions.
• Define and document Data Usage Requirements.
Other Responsibilities:
• Assist with worldwide monthly consolidation of financial information to include intercompany reconciliation, currency translation, and ensuring data integrity
• Provide ongoing system maintenance and support of users and monthly close activities
• Assist with Planning and Forecasting cycles
• Support SOX testing requirements for systems that directly support internal reporting
• Document Business Functional Requirements and Technical Requirements
• Maintain End user Security Profile Definition & Assignments
• Clarify questions regarding assumptions and logic in reporting/analysis models
• Maintain documentation on key systems and processes
• Support the training of staff as necessary to improve analysis
• Provide Training and knowledge transfer initiatives with FP&A groups
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, system analysis, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, with at least 7 years in information systems analysis and implementation of Hyperion Financial applications.
• Extensive hands on experience in working with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Hyperion Planning and Financial Data Quality Management, Enterprise Edition (FDMEE).
• Must be able to resolve issues all aspects of the HFM/Hyperion Planning/FDMEE products.
• Possess a strong knowledge of designing, building, optimizing, integrating, and automating Essbase ASO, Essbase BSO, and Planning applications.
• Strong familiarity with entities, chart of account, metadata hierarchies, attribute definitions etc.
• Know how to create Planning and Essbase applications from scratch.
• Utilize best practices in application, web form, calculation, and report design.
• Be familiar with the functionality of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE), EPM Automate, and other ETL tools.
• Experience with financial consolidation and all levels of intercompany eliminations preferred.
• Working experience in Reporting Studio preferred.
• Working experience in updating Web Forms, Task, Grids, Journal and Intercompany Reports.
• Experience managing and implementing HFM/Planning upgrades preferred.
• Ability to resolve technical issues in administrative applications like FDMEE and Security.
