Job Description:
We’re looking for a program manager to join our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems engineering team. This PM will lead cross-functional teams and solve complex business problems related to engineering processes and data management systems. Examples of potential projects could include: revamping our engineering change management processes; developing a supplier management module within our PLM system; or updating processes and systems to meet FDA validation requirements.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Define, develop, document, and deploy solutions to enable more effective and efficient product development and continuing engineering activities in all Bose business units
• Conduct feasibility studies for new software applications or improvements to existing systems
• Lead project teams
• Identify necessary internal and external project resources
• Develop and manage project plans, including deliverables, schedule, cost, and risk mitigation
• Communicate project information to team members, stakeholders, and senior management in a timely and accurate manner
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with product development and CIS groups
• Develop and maintain process standards, e.g. operating procedures, functional specification documentation, templates and forms
• Keep current on industry trends, standards, and best practices related to engineering tools (PLM, CAD, etc), new product development, software management/release, supply chain processes (product costing, ERP, etc) and global collaboration
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred. PMP certification desired.
Minimum of eight years of related experience in program management, working with product development teams and external design/manufacturing partners. Proven ability to define, develop, and deliver comprehensive solutions for business problems in engineering (mechanical, electrical, software) and supporting supply chain activities. Understanding of best practices and technologies for engineering data management.
Skills/competencies:
• Working knowledge of PTC’s Windchill solution or similar PLM application (required)
• Engineering change and New Product Introduction (NPI) process knowledge
• Strong written and verbal communication, and empathetic listening skills
• Ability to lead teams and influence others
• Excellent Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Visio skills
• Highly self-motivated
• Effective problem solver and decision maker
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Innovative
• Lean Six Sigma training, and knowledge of CAD and ERP systems is a plus
