Job Description
• Advises customers through the planning lifecycle for new projects, workloads and infrastructure and support them in production environments.
• Troubleshoots technical issues and leads issue escalation across the CenturyLink provided managed services.
• In conjunction with various CTL Workgroups and Engagement teams, assist with running customer cloud transformation workshops, as necessary.
• Completes an analysis and presents period reviews of the operational performance to the customers’ leadership – quarterly meetings.
• In partnership with Advanced Managed Services team provide detailed reviews of any service disruptions, metrics, detailed pre-launch planning, and perform regular reviews of existing customer architectures to optimize and evolve their environments for ongoing value.
• Can be engaged at the account level and provide recommendation and proactive advice through all phases of the implementation lifecycle.
• Champions and advocates for customers’ requirements inside of the cloud service provider.
• Participates in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
• Works with some of the leading technologists in the industry and within the firm.
• Works directly with engineers to ensure customer issues are resolved as expediently as possible.
• Provides expert advice on the full line of cloud capabilities in support of the customer's environment and can cover Strategy questions, Project Planning questions, Launch questions and ongoing operational issues.
• Assists customers with best practices for managing applications and services which can work effectively on the platforms they chose.
• Provides insight on billing inquiries and helps execute optimization recommendations.
• Provide in-depth alert analysis to minimize false positives, highlighting critical alerts and their potential impact to the hosted environment.
• Continually develop technical skills around Industry Cloud technologies and trends.
Qualifications
• 10+ years’ Technology Industry experience.
• 2+ years’ architecting and provisioning solutions on AWS IaaS and associated AWS cloud services.
• Proficient in designing, developing, and deploying cloud-based solutions.
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows Operating Systems.
• Understanding of configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet and Ansible.
• Knowledge of Cloud Management Platform such as CTL Cloud Application Manager, CloudBolt, Cisco CloudCenter (formerly CliQr), RightScale.
• Scripting ability with at least one high-level programming language such as Bash, Ruby, Python, PHP
• Strong understanding of Identity & Access Management service.
• Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills - oral, written and presentation.
• Excellent organizational skills and proven experience engaging with cross-functional and cross-regional virtual teams.
• Effective time management skills, including the ability to work on multiple activities at any given time.
• Experience participating in IT and Business assessment and discovery workshops.
• Excellent knowledge of Industry Cloud technologies and trends.
• Holds an active and current AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate accreditation at a minimum.
Education:
Bachelors or Equivalent in Computer Science or Information Systems is desired.
