The Content Specialist is responsible for ensuring the variety and depth of Altice USA’s Video On Demand (VOD) content offering by selecting and scheduling movies from all major Hollywood and Independent movie studios based on their monthly available offerings in accordance with our strategic goals and contractual obligations.
The Content Specialist is the Content Operation team’s subject matter expert regarding the On Demand content that is available via movie studios and TV networks across all distribution platforms and will evaluate and develop On Demand content and merchandising opportunities for Altice USA with an eye towards the achievement of revenue, net contribution, and customer experience goals.
Responsibilities
• Evaluate and develop On Demand content opportunities and select content from major Hollywood movies studios lates available movies as well as their vast libraries of older films as well as independent studio offerings to curate a robust On Demand movie offering in partnership with Programming and Strategy
• Manage the monthly licensing of all On Demand movies from major studios and independent studios
• Maintain and disseminate a monthly licensing summaries to all of the On Demand content delivery vendors ensuring the accuracy of each selection and key licensing details such as activation & deactivation dates
• Partner with Movie Studios, TV Networks, content delivery partners and internal marketing, strategy and operations teams to develop and define monthly programming stunts and promotional opportunities
• Serve as the On Demand content subject matter expert to the entire organization
• Manage the relationship with Movie Studios, TV Networks, Programmers and delivery vendors as it relates to On Demand licensing, scheduling, merchandising and promotional opportunities
• Identify, maintain and disseminate a monthly list of key, promotable On Demand movies & programming stunts and Pay Per View events to Altice USA’s Marketing team
• Research industry trends with an eye towards potential opportunities including competitive analysis and peer reviews to ensure that Altice USAs VOD offering is competitive and compelling to subscribers
• Make recommendations regarding VOD menu structures and customer facing content presentations to ensure the best possible customer experience
• Provide feedback and recommendations into the Product Development stream to ensure that future needs are being addressed
• Analyze On Demand usage data to inform content and merchandising recommendations and performance improvements
Essential Functions
• Ability to develop movie schedules based on industry trends and usage
• Ability to develop and execute key strategic initiatives
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively
• Ability to quickly master the functional details of On Demand licensing, scheduling and workflows
• Ability to learn, adapt and leverage changes in the workplace, including organizational movements and technological advancemens
• Ability to understand and respond effectively to activity interdependencies to ensure that they do not negatively affect the workflow
• Ability to work independently while keeping key stakeholders apprised of issues on the steps being taken to resolve
• A Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Business or related discipline
• 2+ years experience with digital content publishing
• A passion for movies and entertainment media is a must
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Exceptional organization and planning skills required to manage multiple complex, high profile, and deadline-oriented projects
• Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, identify and question assumptions and analyze issues from different perspectives
• Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communications with proven ability to work collaboratively to foster shared ownership of product deliverables and who can build a consensus across multiple constituencies
• A creative individual who will contribute new ideas and foster creativity in others to ensure the continual improvement and strengthening of Altice USA’s brands and product offerings
• A proactive and entrepreneurial individual with a strategic perspective who will initiate action and achieve results under tight deadlines and in an uncertain and ever changing environment
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Preferred Experience
• 2+ years experience in a Movie, TV or media scheduling position or experience in a TV network or MVPDs Programming Department
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Business or related discipline
• Knowledge of the Cable, Satellite, and/or OTT video services and related Consumer Electronics devices, including best practices, on demand content delivery technology, and asset management systems
