The Fox Internship Program provides mentoring and learning opportunities to help you develop your skills, network with Fox employees, and learn more about what it’s like to work in the entertainment industry.
As an intern in the Fox Searchlight Acquisitions you will be responsible for additional support of our close-knit team as we prepare for various film festivals and film markets, including the upcoming Venice and Toronto Film Festivals. This will involve database management, project tracking, script & film evaluation, creation of materials for festivals and other projects as assigned.
Learning Objectives: This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to the acquisitions process in a studio setting while learning the ins-and-outs of each festival and the day-to-day activities within a studio acquisitions department. You will also gain valuable experience evaluating scripts and films while receiving feedback and mentorship throughout your internship.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the position please make sure each of the following requirements applies to you:
• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student. Graduate students preferred. If an undergraduate, must be a sophomore or above.
• Prior internship experience in the film industry is required.
• Passionate about independent film with an interest in film acquisitions and familiarity with the various film markets and film festivals.
• Learns quickly and completes tasks accurately and with a sense of urgency.
• Resourceful and able to work autonomously on projects.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to recognize and prioritize important information.
• Takes direction well and applies it consistently to the task at hand.
• Prior experience evaluating material and giving both written and verbal feedback.
• Comfortable and able to think clearly in high pressure situations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, preferably on both a PC and Mac.
• Familiarity with FileMaker Pro is preferred but not necessary.
