Summary

Yelp is seeking an experienced Employee Relations Partner who has supported rapidly scaling work environments, for our Phoenix office. We are currently over 1200 employees with more to come!
This is an exciting time to support and help shape the Sales and Sales Support organizations as they continue to evolve. You will work closely with site leadership to drive employee relations using your expertise to minimize risk, align work to meet business needs and improve employee morale and culture, while building manager skill sets, providing advice and coaching employees and managers. Work with leaders, managers and employees to provide advice and coach both parties on employee relations issues. Provide strong partnership on performance management, disciplinary processes, restructuring activity, legal issues, investigations and conflict management in the largest Sales office in the Yelp organization.

Responsibilities:
• Support Yelp leaders and employees in our Phoenix office and report to head of client-facing HR for Phoenix and San Francisco Sales.
• Advise leaders and managers on people-related issues and needs; work with them to manage and resolve performance and employee relations issues.
• Assess and resolve complex employee relations matters ensuring consistency across client groups and alignment with Yelp practices.
• Ensure a fair and consistent approach to Yelp policies and procedures promoting a positive culture within the business, while minimizing risks.
• Conduct employee relations risk assessments and provide actionable feedback.
• Conduct training and coaching of managers on skills and techniques.
• Participate in the identification of employee relations trends and partner on identifying solutions and building manager skills.
• Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations when needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality throughout conversations and investigations. Manage highly confidential human resources information and exercise sound judgment in handling or working with confidential data and situations.
• Provide counsel and facilitate prompt and effective resolution of workplace conflict to address issues for employees, managers, and leaders in a manner consistent with Yelp policies, practices and legal considerations.
• Partner with Legal in conducting investigations, research policies/practices, create and gather documentation, make recommendations and implement resolutions when applicable. Identify best practices to influence continuous improvement in the organization.
• Consult with leaders and managers on talent and organization issues and provide guidance and coaching as appropriate.
• Understand Yelp’s business, values and culture. Use them to guide recommendations and decision-making.
Experience:
• Minimum of Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of progressive HR work experience including ER issues, disciplinary actions, legal issues (harassment, discrimination, leave, accommodations, etc), performance management (including Performance Improvement Plans and Coaching plans), policy interpretation and investigations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various employment laws and their impact on HR matters required.
• A track record of providing HR advice and solutions to senior and junior leaders on employee and organizational issues
• Demonstrated ability to partner within and outside of HR.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc); knowledge of Workday a plus.
• Demonstrated integrity via assertiveness, presence, and confidence. Strong influencing skills with managers and leaders; flexibility needed to be proactive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Ability to make timely, effective, principle-based decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; an articulate and persuasive communicator including strong presentation skills; some analytical and problem solving abilities.
