Our Opportunity:
Cumulus DC has openings for Spring, Summer & Fall Interns at Cumulus Media DC. The ideal candidate will be dependable, hardworking and self-motivated while maintaining a great attitude and work ethic. Please note in your cover letter for which semester you are applying.
General Responsibilities
• Post on station's social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
• Handle listener relations by contacting prize winners and returning voicemails
• Maintain a prize winner database
• Select winners from the web
• Organize and file prize winner information
• Write copy for promotions and digital efforts and perform web updates
• Assist the street team at various station events and appearances in the D.C. Metro Area
• Upload pictures on Facebook, station website
• Prepare for events by creating event materials, packing bins
• Attend sales calls throughout the sales process to learn client relationship building
• Research, network, and discover compelling avenues for business partnerships with the stations
• Write actual commercials for station clients and create client content as it pertains to their campaign
• Execute client related promotional campaigns, station events, and concerts
• Represent station data in a meaningful way that's relevant to the client
• Collect all deliverables of campaign and prepare recap materials
• Support on-air staff with promotional needs, including taking calls in-studio
Qualifications/ Requirements
• Internships are available to college students only.
• Advisor written verification that the applicant will receive class credit is required.
• Must be available for a minimum of 16 hours per week dependent upon the number of credits to be earned.
• Past experience and dedication to broadcasting as a career are assets, and often will enhance a student’s chances of selection.
