Requirements
Position Description:
The program manager acquires, develops, and manages the creation and publication of valuable resources that support teaching and learning. Instructors and students use these resources to enrich the learning experience and facilitate the teaching process. In addition, the program manager is expected to manage major projects and relationships independently, including financial and marketing efforts, as well as working closely with other components of the organization. The program manager is responsible for signing and managing authors; making revision and development decisions; coordinating all phases in an assigned project’s life cycle; managing the financials on a project-by-project basis; and supporting projects through collaboration with other divisions, including the sales force and marketing, and traveling in support of individual projects. The program manager also plays a key role in sales training and presentations.
Responsibilities:
• Initiate, analyze, and synthesize market research to impact new and improved products and features. Work with key stakeholders to ensure the best possible user experience.
• Contact, support, and inform potential adopters and sales reps about features and products in order to drive sales; design and participate in customer and sales rep development, training, and product presentations.
• Attend relevant conferences, sales presentations, and company meetings, including campus travel, in order to promote products and gather market information; use this information to make decisions about the development and acquisition of company products.
• Identify, evaluate, and sign academic authors for print and media projects based on course and market needs and expectations. Also work with colleagues to prototype and test new digital product models.
• Cross-functional team management of authors, editorial, production, media, and marketing to ensure on-time and successful product launch; assemble and motivate team according to product and individual needs.
• Determine budgets and manage the financials for each project, making educated decisions at each project phase to ensure efficient use of resources and optimal sales and profitability.
Skills/Experience Required:
• 3-5year of Higher Education Publishing experience
• Communication and analytical skills. Use Google suite of products
• Technical skills. STEM degree desirable (but not necessary)
Educational Background Required:
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
