Consumer Marketing Manager - Planning
The Consumer Marketing Planning Manager will:
• Manage the long-term strategic plans and the execution of those plans.
• Manage the daily responsibilities for assigned titles. Ensure all operations run smoothly.
• Provide accurate forecasts and closely manage financials.
• Provide leadership to direct reports and others who support the titles in various roles.
Essential Job Functions
40 - Ensure the accuracy of the circulation model and reports for the budget, strategic plans and monthly forecasts. Identify potential future risks and opportunities. Explores and presents options to mitigate risks and maximize opportunities. Maintains a high level of knowledge for each title and understands the critical success factors for each title
25 - Manages monthly forecasts on a timely basis: expense, revenue, deferred expenses. Resolves forecast issues with business manager; uses source managers to maintain model inputs. Reviews and approves expenses with source managers.
15 - Manages promotions for assigned titles. Works with editorial, source managers, and creative team to develop effective promotions and generate higher and more profitable response rates.
10 - Manages ABC, postal and other required reporting. Ensures promotions meet ABC guidelines. Provides ABC information to sales staff as requested. Works with advertising sales staff as needed to ensure circulation is accurately represented to advertisers.
10 - Other projects as assigned. Emphasis placed on developing new consumer revenue streams
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Accounting or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of marketing experience. Cross channel marketing experience beneficial.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Knowledge of direct marketing, promotion or production technologies.
• Analytical aptitude and ability to make logical decisions.
• Ability to coordinate and present large amounts of complex information
• Must have excellent computer skills utilizing current business software
• Must have solid financial/statistical and analytical skills
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
% Travel Required (Approximate): < 5%.
