The Marketing Manager- Microsoft Americas, is responsible for contributing to effective marketing plans for the Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP} program, as well as implementing direct marketing activities across various Pearson VUE distribution channels to meet agreed-upon budgets, sales volumes,
program objectives and timelines. The Marketing Manager is also responsible for assisting the Manager of the Microsoft Marketing team and the broader Pearson VUE/Microsoft team with annual strategic marketing planning and ensuring marketing activities and tactics are carried out properly to meet the business objectives of Microsoft and Pearson VUE.
Responsibilities
Working closely with the Marketing Communications team, the Strategic Marketing team for IT and the mindhub team,the Marketing Manager- Microsoft Americas works as a marketing contact between these internal teams, the client and other stakeholders to ensure the marketing activities and tactics are developed and implemented through various PearsonVUE distribution channels in an effective and high-quality way. Using his/her marketing expertise, this individual will be responsible for implementing marketing programs as defined in the marketing plan, and they will also be responsible for measuring and tracking promotion effectiveness.
Operational and Project Management
• Develop marketing initiatives and activities to drive overall test volume for designated products.
• Manage all marketing and communications activities andevents for assigned products.
• Create account marketing plans, timelines andbudgets for marketing activities as required.
• Manage budget within projectand marketing plan, track project expenditures and look for cost efficienciesto maximize marketing dollars.
• Work closely with internal team and externalvendors to implement marketing activities and tactics.
• Provide Program Manager with direction on promo code/voucher discounts and determine success metrics for promotions.
Creative Execution of Marketing Promotions
• Providecreative concepting of marketing initiatives, and draft promotional copy,creative and relevant terms & conditions.
• Ensure compliance withclient-brand guidelines and contract when implementing creative and managerequired approvals.
• Work with other members of the Marcomm Team, freelancersor vendors as needed to execute marketing campaigns.
Relationship Management
• Develop and maintain relationships with marketing contacts at key client accounts as assigned.
• Act as the marketing contact for internal sales and marketing teams as assigned.
Strategic Planning Support
• Assist in annual strategic marketing planning and implementation of agreed-upon initiatives.
• Provide project recaps indicating success metrics and ROI. Makerecommendations based on how to apply learnings to future promotions.
Ability to travel up to 10%.
Qualifications
• BA or BS in marketing, business communications or related field required, MBA preferred.
• 3 - 5 years of marketing experience working on a variety of marketing and market development activities.
• Experience working with high-level customer contacts.
• Experience managing projects from inception to completion, including managing to a timeline and budget.
• Experience across multiple promotional vehicles (advertising, collateral, email blasts, Web, direct mail, events, social media) preferred.
• Digital marketing experience (e.g., email blasts, microsites, Flash) preferred.
• Vendor management experience preferred.
• Proficient at using Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) and experience with graphic design or web programs (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, html coding) preferred.
