I. Job Summary
| Major goals and objectives.
The Business Analyst-Business Intelligence reviews, analyzes and evaluates complex processes, systems and user needs for planned projects. This position documents business requirements and needs and generates associated business solutions that meet and satisfy the identified needs. The Business Analyst-Business Intelligence assists the IT staff in understanding the operational needs for both automated and manual solutions to business processes and procedures.

Analyzes, defines, documents and communicates complex business solutions.
Partners with business users to gather all requirements to prepare business specifications; translates the requirements into business functionality. Documents workflows and results of business analysis and obtains sign-off from users on specifications. Assists the technical development team in translating business functionality into BI architecture. Communicates the business strategies, goals, and needs to the technical development team and serves as business interface to manage expectations and define business satisfaction metrics. Designs and executes test plans to ensure that business requirements and functional specifications meet objectives. Performs analysis of business processes and redesigns workflow. Participates in training initiatives and may conduct training sessions to implement new or improved systems and procedures. Conducts meetings on all levels of management for purposes of presentations, reviews, approvals, etc. Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing business processes and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed; makes related recommendations. Evaluates hardware and software vendors and/or third party hardware and software vendors and reports significant findings regarding business services applications.

Identifies best-practice processes, methods and techniques. Creates policies and procedures and ensures adoption. Follows/recommends guidelines/methodologies set forth by the Business Technology team.
Provides leadership and technical knowledge to ensure efficient design, development and implementation of processes and systems. Provides on-site work process and re-engineering support to business partners as needed. Collaborates with the business to create vision, understand, champion, and prioritize their wants and needs.

Maintains and distributes associated scorecard information. Monitors Corporate objectives to understand the business drivers. Supports applications with business management consultation.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements| All must be met to be considered.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or related discipline; or equivalent training and/or experience.
Experience:
Minimum of three years experience in a directly related analytical IT role.
Substantial involvement in complex active system requirement definitions.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to understand, document and communicate business requirements
Good analytical and organizational skills
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical knowledge
