Taylor Communications (formerly Vectra Visual/Photocraft Inc.) is seeking a Production Supervisor for our facility in Beaverton, OR. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of activities within their assigned production area, along with ensuring proper documentation of jobs and materials used are completed.
Shift Available
• Monday through Friday (weekends as needed to meet service levels for customers)
• 5:30am – 3:00pm (hours may vary based on production need)
Responsibilities Include:
• Manages day-‐to-‐day relations within assigned department, in partnership with other departments within the organization. Ensuring that communication standards, job requirements, quality standards, production output goals and clients’ needs are met in a timely and professional manner,
• Responsible for overseeing reporting of inventory processed on all shifts.
• Works with company management to facilitate the needs of multiple clients through the job order process.
• Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results to production manager/production meetings.
• Ensures proper training for new employees is completed, including safety and forklift training.
• Assist with revising systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-‐keeping systems, budgetary objectives and personnel requirements; implementing change.
• Analyze costs variances for the department. Identify and communicate significant variances to the job plan/schedule.
• Ensures equipment is in working order and schedules maintenance and repairs as necessary.
• Reviews and monitors all necessary department reports. (ie., time sheets, production schedules and production status). Processes correcting entries as necessary. Train and coach staff to complete business transaction reporting timely and accurately.
• Assists in the completion of Corrective Action Plans and investigations whenever warranted.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years supervisory experience of 10 or more employees in a warehouse, print facility or production environment.
• Knowledge and experience with inventory management systems a plus. Understanding of large format print material and equipment preferred.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
• Experience using an ERP system (such as Lawson, Oracle, SAP, etc.) to plan, execute and monitor business activities.
• Expert communication skills; written (letters, memos, email, IM), phone and face-‐to-‐face with all levels of clients both internal and external to the company.
• Knowledge of printing and materials used, along with an understanding of needs of a retail environment.
