Director, Project Management Office -- IS
JOB SUMMARY:Under the management of the CIO the Director of the Project Management Office - I.S. is responsible for the execution and support of the activities associated with directing the PMO team. Responsibilities include collaborating with leaders across the company to prioritize, manage, and execute business/technology initiatives. Responsible for identifying, documenting and managing the business needs from all corporate stakeholders, the associated project management and business analytics initiatives related to the assigned projects, and interfacing with vendors associated with these projects. As a result of each of the assigned activities and/or projects, the Director, PMO -- I.S. is responsible for providing status reports to management with supporting documentation. Close integration with Six Flags park personnel and corporate management is required for the execution of these tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Work closely with CIO to understand, internalize, and incorporate the IS strategy into the Six Flags project portfolio
• Manage personal activities, blocking time on a regular basis for these activities, and reporting on such activities.
• Run PMO, Business Analysis, and QA disciplines using management best practices
• Facilitate interactions between QA and the CIO in an established oversight escalation process
• Providing Business Analysis of stakeholder needs during project planning and change management phases.
• Lead monthly project prioritization process with executive committee
• Overall Management and Support of I.S. Project Initiatives.
• Build productive and collaborative relationships with senior business leaders
• Developing and Maintaining System/Project Change Management Policies and Procedures.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to PMO team with regard to the project management discipline
• Ensuring that project documentation is up to date and status updates are provided on a regular and on-going bases to all stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain trusted advisor relationships with project stakeholders by providing project vision and status
• Provide leadership and stability to a growing organization in transition
• Providing strict adherence to the corporate security policies and procedures.
• Participation in weekly status calls to review corporate and individual department initiatives.
• Maintaining technical proficiency in areas deemed necessary to support the on-going and future operating environment.
• Communicates to all Six Flags concerned parties any existing or potential system issues that will affect operations issues. Proactively follows the Six Flags escalation and change control process.
• Prepares, maintains and submits activity/progress reports on a bi-weekly basis.
• Monitoring and fulfilling assigned performance goals on a department and individual basis.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform any other assigned tasks deemed necessary by Six Flags management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Management Information Systems, or a relevant IT related field, is required.
• 5+years of experience in project management or in a technology-related industry.
• Maintains PMP certification.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills are an absolute must.
• Strong interpersonal skills -- for interface with all levels of internal management and end users -- are required.
• Fluency in all Microsoft Office, Visio and Project applications is required
