Job Description
KMSB/FOX11, a TEGNA company, is seeking an experienced National Sales Manager to join our sales team. We are seeking a driven, solutions-based seller who is eager to sell KMSB marketing solutions to national agencies, as well as grow our national market share by negotiating, packaging and increasing current client spend utilizing all of our assets.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Lead and manage rep firm providing them with the tools needed to properly represent KMSB
• Weekly one-on-one with key markets that represent the highest percentage of national revenue
• Responsible for positioning and selling sports & specials
• Create key account business strategies to achieve total revenue goals
• Uncover marketing funds outside of core ad budgets utilizing resources like KMSB marketing team and Hatch
• Demonstrate product knowledge and value to customers
• Communicate effectively with rep firm and clients
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients
• Organize and prioritize to meet goals and deadlines
• Effectively negotiate and packages as needed to garner the highest share possible while pricing to demand
• Effective inventory management
• Collaborate with sales support to provide timely and accurate service
• Coordinate and conduct account maintenance including make-goods, posts, aging/collections.
• In collaboration with sales support, research and insights team, create and deliver formal written and verbal presentations to clients
• Stay abreast of details requiring immediate attention and prioritize tasks accordingly
• Accurate forecasting within acceptable variances
• Travel as needed to meet with high value accounts
Job Requirements
Key requirements and qualifications include:
• College degree with prior media sales experience preferred.
• Excellent presentation skills and ability to communicate with decision makers at all levels.
• 4 years of experience in national media sales preferred
• Strong understanding of broadcast and/or digital advertising sales in preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to efficiently organize workload and workflow.
• Strong desire to learn and become entrenched in the ever-evolving digital marketplace.
