Overview and Responsibilities
The Associate Art Director is an integral part of our Brand Creative Design Group, developing inspired concepts and designs for launch campaigns, presentations, events, logo design and general Brand Creative and Brand Marketing needs. This person collaborates with Creative Directors, Writer / Producers, Editors, Designers and the rest of the Brand Creative team to bring bold and exciting creative to each new project. This person is also an expert in their craft, and provides leadership and mentoring across the design team. They will be responsible for developing concepts and design, and will work with the rest of the creative team to oversee each project through to its completion.
The Associate Art Director will primarily work in support of our Out-of-home launch and brand creative, but will also collaborate with Multi-platform and Motion design teams, as appropriate.
Responsibilities include:
• Concept and Design Key Art & Digital ideas for new and existing Comedy Central shows, specials and events
• Art Direct brand campaign photoshoots
• Deliver cohesive creative for multiple platforms such as print, video, digital and social
• Keep up to date with design, illustration, animation, photography trends and new technology
• Implement compelling, effective and relevant creative solutions at all times
Basic Qualifications
• BA in Graphic Design, Advertising, Animation, or equivalent.
• Candidates should have a minimum 7-10 years of design and animation experience
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• 5+ years of onset art direction for talent photoshoots, as well as knowledge of the pre and post production logistics that are required to execute a shoot
Additional Qualifications
• The ability to generate and execute big, creative ideas for both Print and Digital
• Expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
• Experience and/or working knowledge of After Effects preferred, and Cinema 4D is a plus
• Must have excellent typography and layout
• Experience in a Broadcast, Agency, and / or Commercial production environments preferred
• Expertise in storyboarding and illustration a plus
• Ability to work on several projects at once under tight deadlines, with strong attention to detail
• Excellent organization and time-management skills are essential for this role
• Self-motivation and strong communication skills are essential, as this position requires working closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Writer / Producers, and other designers
• Must be comfortable presenting your work and ideas to clients and talent
• Must have a hands-on, collaborative spirit
