The Crown Publishing Group is looking for an assistant to join their managing editorial team. The assistant will help manage pre-production deadlines, metadata, reporting, and reprint corrections. Additional responsibilities entail managing administrative functions for the department, as well as special projects on an as-needed basis.
Tasks include:
-Processing reprint corrections
-Updating databases with metadata and delivery dates
-Creating and distributing reports to the greater division
-Providing materials for and scheduling recurring meetings
-Reviewing production and sales materials for accuracy
-Liaising between the editorial, publishing, production, publicity, marketing, contracts, sales, and operations departments
The ideal candidate has the ability to prioritize multiple projects while also staying focused in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and attention to detail are a must. Some copyediting experience is preferred. Previous experience in publishing is highly beneficial.
