Position Description:
Macmillan Learning is currently seeking an Email Marketing Associate located in their New York, NY office. This individual will support the Digital Marketing Solutions department with the execution and ongoing maintenance of our marketing programs in Marketo including email, engagement, and event programs. The Email Marketing Associate will drive email strategy, collaborate to create new marketing programs for customer acquisition and lead generation, and analyze key metrics to evaluate and improve Macmillan Learning’s email, drip, nurture, and event program performance. Responsibilities will also include the logistics involved in the implementation and optimization of marketing programs, ensuring maintenance of Marketo folders, programs, and assets, and creating strong content assets for campaigns in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Specialists and Marketing Managers.
In addition, the Email Marketing Associate will support digital marketing campaigns for the high school market. Responsibilities will include the logistics involved in the implementation and optimization all online promotional activity including optimizing email and webinar programs, creating and maintaining landing pages, managing social media advertising, and updating and maintaining campaign content on our websites. The Email Marketing Associate ensure and contribute to a positive customer experience on all of our digital platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Support the Marketing Automation Specialist in the creation and maintenance of Marketo programs (email, engagement, and event programs) for use by email builders and for acquisition and lead generation programs.
• Act as email approver on email test sends including QAing HTML and text emails, send list parameters, and other key elements across programs for various discipline teams and departments.
• Ensure best practices are adhered to in our marketing programs and actively suggest improvements and optimization to email builders.
• Maintain and update Marketo folders, programs, and assets including data management and clean up.
• Create landing pages, forms, email programs and other assets in Marketo, route test sends, and deploy emails as needed.
• Actively drive email strategy across disciplines, working with Marketing Managers and Digital Marketing Specialists.
• Assemble and analyze key metrics and reports to share with appropriate departments and stakeholders to improve marketing programs and processes as needed.
• Create content for integrated campaigns for the high school marketing across channels from campaign launch through completion.
• Collaborate with Executive Digital Marketing Specialist and Marketing Automation Specialist to create and update digital marketing resources, documentation, user manuals, and request forms.
• Support large scale marketing site projects such as content migrations, redesign, and optimization projects as needed.
Required Skills Knowledge:
• 1-2 years experience in digital marketing and/or email marketing. 1 year of experience with Marketo and/or Salesforce strongly preferred.
• Team oriented with a positive can-do attitude

• Comfortable learning new technologies
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively across departments and teams
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google for Work (Slides, Sheets, Docs, Drive)
• Strong organizational abilities
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently
• Creative and strategic thinker
• Keen interest in digital marketing and customer experience
Experience Needed:
• 1-2 years experience in digital marketing and/or email marketing. 1 year of experience with Marketo and/or Salesforce strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of email service providers (e.g. Marketo, ExactTarget) preferred
• Basic HTML knowledge preferred
• Familiarity with Google Analytics, SalesForce, and SurveyGizmo a plus
Educational Background Required:
BA in English, Communications, Marketing, or Business or other related field or equivalent work experience.
