The Field Sales Representative - Supplemental Sales, is a great junior level sales opportunity for an individual looking to transition from the classroom to a sales role or for a new sales professional looking to take the next step and join a growing EdTech company.
The Field Sales Representative’s role is to prospect, qualify, and build relationships with new customers at K-5 school buildings within an assigned territory, as well as retain and extend those relationships with our existing client base. The field sales representative must be self-directed and focused on the achievement of revenue goals. This role will be assigned quarterly and annual sales quotas and this individual is expected to be on the road and in school buildings at least 75% of the time. Occasional overnight travel is required however the field sales representatives territory will be limited to a metropolitan area with a radius of approximately 100 miles allowing for the ability to be home most evenings. The Field Sales Representative is expected to build strong relationships with other field based representatives at Amplify and may be asked to support specific campaigns.
This position requires the field sales representative to become well versed in all Amplify supplemental products, beyond basic features and benefits, as they work closely with customers to determine optimal solutions to meet the needs of all stakeholders (teachers, administrators and students.) The field sales representative will need to become versed with sales and purchasing cycles as they relate to schools, Title I, and other Federal funding guidelines.
This position requires strong communication and listening skills and the ability to transfer customer needs into successful sales campaigns and presentations.
Responsibilities of the Field Sales Representative:
• Plans and organizes area coverage and sales approach to assure effective development of assigned sales area in solicitation of new leads and accounts, which includes cold calling by phone and in-person.
• Provide close personal service to develop long-term customer relationships, seek out and develop new business and product sales, and increase market share
• Utilizing a consultative approach, position and qualify the primary customer need and situation to align solutions and services
• Develop and manage lead generation activities including but not limited to trials, webinars, email campaigns, and outbound calling for assigned territory
• Conduct prompt follow-up on leads from activities including but not limited to strategic partners, trade shows, and marketing activities
• Develop and manage full cycle sales strategy through trial sign-ups and marketing generated leads
Basic Requirements of the Inside Sales Representative:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years sales experience
• 1-3 years of K-5 education experience
Preferred Requirements of the Inside Sales Representative:
• Ability to gain appropriate level of knowledge through self-study, training, and experience
• Proven track record of managing full cycle sales strategy through free trials or pilots
• Educational sales experience
• Knowledge of administration practices, including use of CRM systems
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong creative-thinking and analytical skills
• Self-motivated, goal and detail-oriented, persistent and dependable with strong probing skills
• Proven track record of developing leads, as well as closing business
