Description
Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications & Content Coordinator will be a member of the gallery's dynamic and creative Communications & Marketing team. The Communications Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Director of Communications in the development and execution of the gallery’s global communications campaign. While primarily focused on media engagement in the U.S., the Coordinator will also collaborate with colleagues and consultants in Europe and Asia to advance the gallery's brand and vision globally.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
• Support the Director of Communications in implementing communications campaigns for global exhibitions, art fairs, artists, announcements and events
• Manage press release development process, partnering with research team
• Respond to requests for information from press outlets and consulting partners
• Consolidate public relations materials including press releases, images, media alerts, fact sheets, status reports and other communications as needed, and prepare these materials for distribution
• Coordinate fact checking between press, artists, foundations, artist liaisons and internal research team
• Organize press kit materials
• Upkeep press mailing list
• Oversee logistics for press previews
• Organize and maintain the gallery’s press archives
WRITING AND CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
• Taking direction from the Partners, Artist Liaisons, and Director of Communications, develop concept and draft content for press and marketing materials, including writing of press releases, thematic text for brochures, web content, and email campaigns. Partner with research team to ensure on-deadline completion of these campaigns.
• Support Director of Communications and External Affairs Manager with placement of content across Lévy Gorvy’s platforms, including website, social media, and email campaigns
• Partner with research team, leading fact check and proofing of all externally oriented content (press materials, marketing materials, brochures)
QUALIFICATIONS
• BA Degree in Art History, Communications or related field
• Minimum 2 years of Public Relations or related experience at an art gallery with multiple locations
• Excellent writing and editing skills and highly professional verbal communication
• Proven success in dealing with media and securing media coverage
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to both work collaboratively and coordinate within a team, while also maintaining a proactive and solution-oriented approach to individual responsibilities.
• Experience with ArtBase and MailChimp a plus
