This role in an integral part of the Automotive System Division (ASD) business and is a business partner role which combines the voice of Manufacturing Global Supply Chain (MGSC) and ASD, ensuring the business success of the division. Reporting to the Director, Automotive Operations/Manufacturing, this position will be responsible for leading and managing the global automotive supply chain and quality teams. The position will be responsible for driving manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and sourcing performance to meet the business needs and goals of the both MGSC and ASD and will interact internally and externally with executive level management across the entire value chain to drive strategy, policy and decision making. Working across both divisions, position will look to build and create new capabilities to support the changing business models. Will utilize lean practices to deliver supply chain and quality excellence around the globe.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the global organization across divisions to meet ASD and MGSC goals for product and operational costs, quality, and delivery. Provide strategic leadership and direction across the entire global Automotive Supply Chain/Quality scope. Set and direct managers and staff on policies, processes, and strategies that drive supply chain efficiency and quality excellence. Develop Automotive Supply Chain/Quality teams with continuous alignment and engagement on performance, issues, trends, and decisions. Evaluate unique ASD supply chain requirements and align them with the overall supply chain strategy. Accountable for the MGSC/ASD alliance process
Direct managerial responsibility for Supply Chain/ Quality teams in Automotive subsidiaries, including N. American, Germany, Japan, China, Mexico, Korea and any newly established locations. Lead the lean vision for the global Automotive Supply Chain/Quality teams. Develop and implement concepts, framework and deployment plan. Utilize internal and external resources in industry to identify best culture, processes and operational approach. Implement this vision in the Automotive Supply Chain/Quality through education and mentoring. Coordinate activities with ASD and MGSC stakeholders to create processes and drive behavior that assures good decisions on cost, quality, and delivery of automotive product. Communicate with divisional and department leadership on status of projects to ensure key deliverables are met on time and on budget. Assure product and process development for manufacturability to meet cost, quality, and delivery goal as well as to optimize capital investment.
Lead the Automotive Global Quality organization to continuously improve delivered quality to the OEM customer and drive maturity in the global quality management system across the entire value chain. Interact with global OEM customers as needed as a point of escalation on operational, delivery, quality, and sourcing strategies and execution. Assure implementation of automotive regulatory and industry system requirements, e.g. IATF 16949 and lead-free requirements.
REQUIREMENTS
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering or related field. MBA preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or quality related field. Experience leading a global automotive quality organization and interacting with Automotive OEM’s.
