As the People Business Partner, you will:
• Partner with senior management and department heads on strategic initiatives including: employee engagement, retention, performance planning, compensation/title analysis, employee relations matters, career development, information collection, reporting requirements and metrics, succession planning and organizational structuring.
• Work closely with your Business Unit leaders to implement People initiatives that support the needs of the business unit, as well as initiatives that support company-wide activities, ensure that company policies and procedures are consistently and equitably applied and that all legal requirements are met, and make sure that a positive employee relations climate is developed, reinforced and maintained.
• Participate in the creation and upholding of best practice human resource policies, practices and systems which help attract, retain and mobilize high quality employees, support business priorities and collective bargaining agreements, and promote competitive advantage.
• Partner with the internal recruitment team in ensuring and maintaining the integrity and quality of the recruitment efforts including candidate selection and interview process
• Partner with our multiple Centers of Excellence to support our day to day operations such as Benefits, Compensation, Talent and HRIS.
• Be an active member of the wider Global HR team and coordinate with the HR teams based in other regions, as appropriate.
What should you bring to the table:
• 7 - 10 years combined human resources & management experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business or related field, preferably Human Resources or Organizational Development
• A proven track record of creating and/or expanding best practices, human resources and benefits administration and selection, and business programs, processes and systems
• Experience with labor relations, include contract negotiations, handling grievances and arbitrations, and contract interpretation
• The ability to live in the “gray”. A large percentage of issues HR professionals face begins in “the gray area”. Understanding the issue and utilizing the necessary resources available, is critical so that you can achieve or solution the desired result
• Experience working collaboratively with the legal department on union negotiations, compliance with FLSA and state counterpart regulations, and other relevant labor laws.
• Expertise working with a global HR team and knowledge of current employment/labor laws (federal, state, and local regulations)
• Excellent written and verbal Communication
• Effective collaboration, coaching and counseling skills
• Experience with HR information collection and reporting requirements
• Ability to to work under pressure and be a proactive team player
• Ability to manage and resolve sensitive issues/negotiations
