Key Responsibilities:
As VP of Software Quality, you will lead Quality technology vision/strategy and ensure that quality is driven into all aspects of TiVo’s end to end solutions and into all aspects of its many components. TiVo’s User Experience product development organization delivers a multitude of products across B2B and retail segments with a global engineering organization designed to deliver intuitive software for a global customer base including operators, consumer electronics companies and consumers alike. This leader will serve as “test czar”, ensuring all those components come together with function in a way that is meets the high quality bar that our customers demand. While senior engineering leaders at TiVo are motivated to drive quality into all our product development lifecycle, key thought-leadership will come from this role. The successful candidate is a dynamic and innovative leader who can drive the state-of-the-art solutions to the organization. The role reports into our EVP Engineering and Services.
Specific Operational responsibilities include:
• Drive the quality roadmap and implementation of standards, methods, metrics and procedures ensuring and evaluating the quality of our software products. The successful candidate to have a strong technical background in the processes of an outstanding global quality engineering team.
• Lead and instill a sense of urgency for product and process improvement to meet and exceed customer requirements.
• Lead Infrastructure and Build within Company with the ability to transform manual process with automation, where possible, while improving build metrics and utilization.
• Work closely with product, design & engineering teams to define quality criteria and quality metrics, and create specific use-case scripts to facilitate ad-hoc testing
• Standardize quality processes including test plan development, test documentation, test metrics, best practices, and reporting and visibility for overall quality of our apps Establish strategy for different categories of testing (exploratory; regression)
• Establish a strong collaborative culture with peers and other functions within TiVo. Promote a culture of success, pride, performance, discipline, and creativity.
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
• Demonstrated technical expertise in quality with a track-record of innovation and 10+ years of enterprise software along with 10+ years of staff management experience
• Experience driving quality into a complex product portfolio across a global engineering organization
• Experience managing a portfolio of products with different development cycles and timelines, at different stages of maturity and market impact
• Demonstrated success is recruiting and retaining high quality technical teams
• Outstanding team player who is comfortable open-ended problems and ambiguity.
• Demonstrated expertise in improving development processes across large teams. Strong understanding of Agile methods.
• Ability to learn quickly and apply product knowledge to your test planning and quickly acquire a deep understanding of the application UX, design details, logic, and dependencies
• Conduct root cause analysis on production issues with other engineers and determine how we can prevent them in the future
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to present both business and technical information to a wide audience including customers, peers, and staff.

Compensation
The VP, QA will receive a compensation package that is competitive and commensurate with experience. This will include a base salary, bonus, and equity.
