Are you an experienced, creative Media Recruiter with a strong network in NYC and deep understanding of the market and industry trends? Do you thrive on obtaining results? If so, we'd like to speak with you! Midroll Media, a wholly owned subsidiary of The E.W. Scripps Company, is planning a significant expansion and is looking to hire a Media Recruiter for a minimum of a six-month contract. In this role, you'll work closely with hiring managers and HR to hire sales, marketing, production and other professionals at various levels of seniority.
What you'll do...
• Consult with hiring managers and HR business partners to understand job requirements and develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need by utilizing aggressive and creative sourcing strategies
• Use social media, professional networking sites and in-person networking opportunity to identify, source and create connections with both active and passive candidates
• Post and manage jobs and ensure each applicant's progression through the selection process is documented in the applicant tracking system
• Screen resumes to drive and participate in the interview process
• Ensure hiring manager(s) and HR partner is regularly updated on status of recruiting efforts
• Manage the candidate experience to ensure excellent customer service is provided from the initial contact through onboarding
• Evaluate candidates, secure background and reference checks, extend and negotiate offers, and follow up with candidates not selected
• Conduct regular follow-up meetings with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting efforts
• Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
What you bring...
• Well-honed skills in recruiting, sourcing, candidate development, and evaluation processes
• Established network of media professionals in the greater New York area
• Proven success using various platforms to engage the community and prospective candidates including social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Seller Crowd, etc.)
• Proficiency in behavioral-based technical interviewing
• Proven relationship building skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Ability to succeed with minimal supervision and thrive in fast-paced environment
• Superior verbal communication skills with a dynamic telephone presence
• Ability to build and manage trusting relationships
• Knowledge of recruiting-related employment laws and practices, including immigration and visas
• Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills
• Ability to maintain the highly-confidential nature of this work
• Excellent organizational skills
• Resourcefulness and ability to take initiative
• Solid experience with applicant tracking systems
• A passion for podcasting
Education & Experience/Certifications...
• 3+ years full-cycle media recruiting experience
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Proven success recruiting for media professionals in the greater New York area
• Experience with both third-party and/or independent recruiting, as well as corporate recruiting preferred
