As Bose explores new product concepts, new types of ear-worn sensors are needed to provide customers with unmatched experiences. The co-op will investigate the use of sensors in an earbud-like device to understand the potential for biometric monitoring. Working with an interdisciplinary team, the co-op will have opportunities to conceptualize/design devices, make measurements, analyze data and present findings. Work will result in a portable demonstration device. She/he will get exposure to several new Bose product categories and interact with engineers across the Wellness Division.
Skills: Demonstrated interest in human physiology, biomechanics, biomedical devices, robotics, wearable and/or hearables. Experience with Matlab and, preferably, additional languages such as Python and Arduino. Understanding of basic experimental techniques with sensors, data acquisition and signal processing. Comfortable working on open-ended projects requiring background research.
Education Requirements: Graduate student or junior/senior undergraduate with a major in acoustical engineering, controls engineering, electrical, biomechanical, biomedical, or similar degree. Interdisciplinary studies in life sciences a plus.
