Job Description
Overview:
Performics is looking for a highly-motivated, self-starter, contributor to provide financial analysis, forecasting and reporting-consolidation services at the Analyst level. This role will include active forecasting and management of department level budgets through working with Department leads and Accounting team staff members. Role will also be involved in consolidating financial results from multiple business units into regional management reporting and will report to the Finance Manager. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded performer, who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment with the ability to dive into the details and handle tactical issues as they arise. The Associate Analyst role will also be directly involved in process improvement projects and ad hoc analysis requests.
Role Objectives:
• The Analyst will center on business analysis, financial management, and consolidation of financial reporting
• Take a business interest in managing forecasting accuracy of amounts, monthly phasing and categorization
• Provide reliable and insightful variance analysis of performance as compared to budgets and forecasts
• Partner with Accounting team members to ensure accurate recording of expenses
• Create journal entries
• Prepare monthly results reporting and commentary
• Assist with monthly and quarterly forecasting updates and commentary
• Partner with Finance team members to submit monthly and quarterly forecasts within financial reporting systems
• Prepare consolidated regional reporting of multiple P&L’s
• Can adapt to a fast-paced and exciting agency environment
• Provide thoughtful recommendations to solve business issues and implement solutions
• Proactively question processes and procedures and implement change to gain efficiencies and streamline workflows
• Ensure complete, accurate (footing) and properly formatted documents prior to manager review
• Assist with helping department leads understand the business needs and translate into departmental expense forecasts
• Show judgment on when to elevate issues/requests and when to resolve independent
• Appropriately represent and encourage growth within Capability
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of financial analysis experience in a similar role or relevant finance and/or accounting experience.
• Experience within service industry preferred.
• The person must have excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Suggest and create overall efficiencies in their workflow that will benefit their team and our company.
• Relationship building beyond the finance capability and interaction with cross-functional colleagues is a key component of the position – the ability to forge lasting relationships and partner with multiple layers of management are vital.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with an understanding of accounting concepts (debits/credits, expense recognition)
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency of MS Office, Excel (including Pivot Tables), Access, and Power Point.
• Experience with financial reporting systems preferred not required (SAP, Hyperion)
• Ability to manage and meet ongoing deadlines within a fast paced environment
• Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and flexibility and ability to follow through for “owned” work
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask
