Requirements
Celadon Books, a division of Macmillan Publishing, is looking for a creative, entrepreneurial, and organized Director, Content Marketing who will help us produce engaging, meaningful content to reach book consumers and influencers. The position will create and own the strategy that includes content developed for distributed articles, podcasts, infographics, videos and more, all focused on creating a dialog around publishing, books, and authors. The successful candidate will bring extremely strong writing and original, creative thinking and execution to the role. The candidate will work with the Associate Publisher to define the voice and brand of Celadon and will be responsible for creating a content strategy, developing content, overseeing organic and paid campaigns for customer acquisition and engagement, and managing content partnerships.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Create content strategy and manage content development by writers and marketers
• Build monthly calendar plan for content development
• Create and execute organic traffic strategies for all channels
• Oversee paid campaigns to generate traffic, subscriptions/signups, and engagement
• Create and implement SEO strategy across site
• Create new partnerships and manage all communication with partners
• Be the point person with development team for channel (web and newsletter) improvements and updates
• The role will be responsible for hiring and managing a team as well as collaborating with the Macmillan digital marketing team, sales force, and divisional marketing groups.
Qualifications:
• Requires a bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in related field a plus; 10+ year’s experience in a marketing online editorial, or content development role
• Experience managing social media and content marketing (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, GoodReads, etc) and analytics
• Must have first hand knowledge of SEO and SEM campaigns
• Must have Facebook advertising knowledge/business manager
• The successful candidate must have the following skills:
• Project planning is critical; individual must have the capability to document, communicate and integrate results into specific action plans and manage project plans for implementing marketing and publicity campaigns
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required;
• Initiative and desire to work successfully in a fast-paced, small team environment, self-directing day-to-day activities and prioritization; strong attention to detail, with an ability to follow-up on items to ensure tight timelines and releases are met

Founded by Jamie Raab and Deb Futter, Celadon Books will publish a highly curated mix of fiction and nonfiction.
