The Sales Planner manages a set of advertising accounts offering sales support from pitch through execution, partnering with one or more salespeople responsible for these accounts. You will be an expert for your assigned accounts – understanding how these clients buy media, how they measure performance, how to manage client pricing & packaging and internal as well as external processes that are part of the ongoing client relationship. You will have a deep understanding of our ad products, packages and opportunities. You will manage internal and external communications related to the ongoing client partnership including print positioning, franchise utilization, competitive pacing and contract compliance. Working as part of a cohesive client-facing member of the team, you will collaborate to assist in sales strategy, gathering and assembly of data & insights, creation of revenue opportunities, delivery of campaigns and use your excellent communication and problem solving skills to build strong relationships with our partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain expert understanding of our ad products and capabilities (i.e. print, digital, social, etc).
• Maintain forecast in Salesforce, book and track incoming orders in the system and make sure they are correct and complete
• Manage all campaign delivery throughout the campaign lifecycle
• Attend weekly meetings with assigned sales/business unit leads and provide updates on initiatives in market and report on tracking
• Partner with related teams (marketing, production, business) in managing account flow and communication
• Work with research and support teams to create insights and new initiative opportunities
• Create compelling ideas that can drive revenue across our three brands
REQUIREMENTS:
• 2-4 years experience with a background in sales, marketing and/or media planning
• Ability to independently prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines across multiple clients
• Flexible, personable attitude; ability to develop excellent professional relationships with all level of personnel
• Strong Microsoft Office (especially excel) preferred as well as proficiency in Keynote
• BA/BS required
